Best part was you could basically see the offical come over mouthing he had no idea what was going on. I can count on one hand the amount of 20 yard penalties I have seen in 20 years and your going to pull that in last 10 seconds of a game that was essentially over. Good riddance.

To me, this was was very similar to Montgomery's "fumble" vs Memphis and Breece's "fumble" vs WVU in that there was no perfect, clear, indisputable evidence.

IMHO, all of the camera angles I saw seem to indicate he fumbled short of the goal line, but I'm not 100% sure on that either.

On the other hand, **** it because we've seen Iowa get some super lucky breaks over the years and maybe it's time they're on the other end of that deal.

I didn't mind the refs picking up the flag on the Iowa PI against Hutchinson. I can see them not wanting to decide game on a ticky-tack (although probably correct) call. But then they called the sideline interference 15 yard penalty against gifting Iowa a field goal opportunity......You just don't call that. It had no impact on the game at all. Iowa State thought they had won the game and had a change of possession. Refs need to let that go just like they let it go every time someone scores and teammates/coaches trot out on the field to congratulate them.

I like the no call on the PI/holding, just like I liked the no call on hand fighting on X's touchdown. Let them fight for it.

I agree there wasn't PI on X on 4th down. But by the ref throwing a flag, in the moment he saw a penalty. To pick-up the flag after speaking with other refs, isn't a good look.

There is way too much hand fighting between WR's & DB's in today's game. The X TD that Moss complained about offensive pass interference was hilarious because Moss grabbed X and X knocked Moss's hand away causing him to lose balance and fall down.

I'm in the camp of the team needing to just make sure they stay on the sideline no matter what they do but is a warning required before actually pulling the flag?

Also on the defensive offsides, there was also holding on Iowa there which I think can still count post snap, and should have offset somewhere in there.
I absolutely saw an obvious offensive hold before the ball came loose, and when they said there were flags down I told my wife, “It’s holding, they’ll decline it, game‘s over.” Then they said there were two flags, so I think, well, offsetting penalties, that’s a bummer. Then they announced both fouls were on Iowa State and I was like, but-what?

Duh!
If we had lost after that and majorly out gaining them, that would have been a horrible gut punch. Especially after how we lost many of these game’s recently
Totally, but we’ve outgained them for a while, they kept winning the TO and points stats…and the games. This is the worst hawk team we‘ve faced in a long time.

Not the best angle, but I didn't think he looked offsides. He doesn't jump before the snap either.\

Since the ref is looking right down the line, I'll trust he got it right.

But just because Anderson's head is over the blue line means nothing based on angle of camera. Same principal of the railroad tracks coming together optical illusion.

Moss knew he was beat and was playing for the flag.

Line is just a TV estimate/rendering anyway...the football itself is the official neutral zone, and the nose of the football was past the blue line.

McDonald was held the entire game! When you can get that pressure with 3 down linemen game over!

Hopefully he got it right, and it wasn't just the Iowa bench in his ear.

Iowa was holding entire play on all those last gasp plays.

If our defender was in the neutral zone then that’s something that should be flagged in 80-90% of all plays I’ve seen in college fb.
