Pretty sure if you interfere with an official it's just 15 yards with no warning, and interfere doesn't have to mean make contact, if he has to run around a coach or player that's interference. If we had a bunch of guys run onto the field it seems possible that one or more of them could have gotten in the official's way.
Too bad they don't explain. I can imagine perhaps the line judge was trying to go down the sideline to mark the ball and our guys were celebrating and got in his way. I guess we may never know.

Not exactly sure.
Pushing a guy in the field of play who’s trying to gain yardage? You have a bad textbook.
He wasn't trying to gain yardage anymore, just as DeJean made contact, Hunters lead foot touched out of bounds and QBs always get that call if they are going out of bounds without trying to turn upfield.

Watching the video I have no idea how we got that fumble recovery.

The groans on the missed field goal were good for my soul.
My guess is that Pottebaum was laying on it but didn't have control. I think Jackson (47) was credited with the recovery. It looks like maybe he was able to get his hand or arm on the ball. I don't know what the rulebook says about control, but I don't think laying on the ball is considered control. I tried to see who came out with it, but the referee has the ball pretty quickly. He must've had an idea of who he took it from.

I thought the ref might have been thinking about blowing the whistle for forward progress, but since they were going out of bounds didn’t bother. Then the hit came along and he found it unnecessary roughness since the play was basically dead in his mind.

Dekkers is taller than Purdy. Purdy will never be taller than Dekkers. Good grief. You never admit you are wrong. LOL
Lol, I thought we were talking about bigger...Purdy is bigger than Dekkers. Dekkers is taller and slimmer. Purdy had a thick lower half.

Bigger is more closely tied to weight, not height.

The white hat announced over the PA that the ruling on the field was a fumble recovered by the defense. All our guys knew was change of possession and we had essentially won the game, because of what the official had announced!
Doesn’t really matter though. I get why they ran out, but it doesn’t just excuse it if they did interfere.

He wasn’t close to out of bounds when DeJean pushed him.

If it was called unnecessary roughness it doesn't matter where on the field he was hit. A late hit is out of bounce or after the play is called dead.
I think that is where everyone is getting hung up. Good call.

Also when X caught the TD the tv angle was from the opposite end zone so it looked like he pushed him. I don't think they showed that angle on tv. Most of of the stadium would have seen it from behind the play. I thought it looked like a push on tv.

He finished the push out of bounds. If he lays off, even keeping his hands on him, without the shove = no flag. He completed and finished the shove out of bounds. Easy call.

Adding context to the penalty; the ref made no mention of 'late hit out of bounds', which they generally do for a late hit out of bounds. The ref described the penalty as 'unnecessary roughness', which they may have deemed his forward progress stopped and Dejean's hit has late. Either way, if it's any one other than the QB, I don't think a penalty is called.

I didn’t say Purdy was taller. I said he was bigger. 220 pounds is bigger than 206 pounds. Like, every normal person would say taller than in regards to height, not bigger than.

This i agree with this, and distinction you bring up is important.

Dekkers is pretty obviously taller, heavier and stronger than Purdy even after the weight loss.

I believe people if they tell me he is faster 50m or 100m but I am skeptical that he's a faster game speed runner than Purdy. Power, maybe, but unless he improves as a runner I am not seeing this QB run improvement through two games. That's fine and I'm not criticizing Dekkers, I just don't get where the 'true running QB' predictions are coming from because it seems to me that's the one place where our QB position has taken a step back.

Hope he proves me wrong and he can run as well as Lanning back there because Lanning running ability with Dekkers arm would be a nightmare for teams to face.

I think dekkers has always been closer to a Lanning runner than a Purdy runner. Purdy will try to make you miss, Hunter wants to punish you. Every week he survives, the better i feel about Becht becoming a serviceable fill in incase HD gets dinged.
