The bugle is a nice snack.... not a good logo however.
No apology needed. I didn't intend to imply that you implied it.![]()
Wouldn't be surprised.Always wonder if that's why we never do throwback branding on uniforms. Because he's still salty everyone hated his bugle and that some still prefer previous logos over the current I State lol
It's still used occasionally. Saw it on the board during recent volleyball matches. Also, it used at every home wrestling meet I attended last year.Pollard pushed it because we blew a ton of money in it. Everyone hated it. End story.
That's a lot better than the Bugle logo.
Our apparel needs an upgrade or rebranding. I don’t mind the black and what not but ISU gear is not cool unless you are 60+. Feels crappy saying it but we’ve now been passed up by K-State
Yes. ... In retrospect, it almost certainly was "rigged," I-state clearly the preference of design process, put it in middle of two other sub-par options -- it's going to stand out -- then opening to a vote is good p.r.

I think our branding should reflect continuity. A change at K-State could reflect a moving on from the Bill Snyder era and into whatever is next. I think stylistically the Power Cat has kind of had its day. I sure wouldn't mind a Cy helmet as part of a throwback uniform for a particular game. Our apparel needs an upgrade or rebranding. Wow - appreciate the context!I talked with the designer who created the bugle logo. He had other concepts. Stronger concepts. The athletic department decided/chose the bugle. Not the designer's fault. Having non-design people choose/direct creative is at fault.
Yeah. Gives me that sheepish feeling from Pollard, like damn I paid for this but I need to hide it...It's still used occasionally. Saw it on the board during recent volleyball matches. Also, it used at every home wrestling meet I attended last year.
I would love to see your examples of cool apparel and how you would rebrand Iowa State.
