Call me crazy, but I still think they beat Kansas State. So much parity in the Big 12 this season. Just never know from week to week.
With ISU's top 2 RB's probably out (and Dean looks doubtful) beating KSU will be a stretch. I fear Xavier is going to get killed running 10+ targets over the middle, and we lose him season's over.

Interesting nobody can name a 2nd one though. Maybe because we've plateaud hard and nobody wants to see that

2019 win at home against Texas that was ranked #22 and last year in Manhattan winning by 13 points against an 8-5 squad that we controlled from the first snap.

So all you got is a team who lost 4 of their last 7 in the regular season who was ranked because the logo on their helmet and a team whos conference wins were over the 6th, 8th, 9th, and 10th place Big 12 teams and also lost to an embarrassment of a Texas team who lost 6 in a row before that? Is that really how low our standards are?

ISU could beat Iowa, OU and Texas in the same season and not go to a bowl. That'd be historically historical.
ISU isn't beating anybody this season. You're unreasonably optimistic to think otherwise. Absolutely hate to even fathom the idea (I hope I'm wrong) but it sure seems like CMC is headed down the same downward trajectory like all his predecessors.

So who can qualify for “good wins”? Just Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. You know you are being a ****. Let it go tonight. I mean if we can’t count 8-5 teams in the Big 12 as good wins then I don’t know what to tell you.

Lets see:
Oklahoma and OSU every year
Baylor when they have a pulse. We never beat them when they actually do though
Iowa when they arent fielding the worst offense since the 1930s
Notre Dame, Clemson, Washington State in our bowls

Get a few of those maybe instead of just feeding on crap teams and no showing all the important ones or roughly toss up games? That would be cool. Havent done that since Purdys freshman year though. There's a word for programs that are stuck beating the bottom teams only. Its platued.

You think this team is the most “together” team ever though? Because that’s what really matters

Campbell should leave with fans like you. We lost a game. We played poorly. Missed 3 very makable field goals. Hit the upright twice. I have been a Cyclone for decades. Even in the best of times, wear your Cyclone nut cup. We have never had more success under any coach than we have had with Matt Campbell. Disappointed. But know that I will support Campbell through this. You act like a change should be made. Grow up.

The difference is… OU fans know things will get better.
By what standard though? People forget even OU and Bama had dark times for a bit. And by that I mean not hitting their expectations. Same as us, so yeah tell me how you feel always winning or playing for the conference title to honestly maybe not ever doing it again. Because that’s what OU is looking at right now once they move to the SEC.

Two things can be true here:

1. There are things Matt needs to change and get right because it’s time

HOWEVER

2. A bunch of you are starting to act and sound like Nebraska fans when they got rid of guys consistently winning 9 games a year.

We have a garbage history and as painful as these close losses are, and yes Matt better figure this out ASAP because it’s tiring to watch, the alternative is to go back to getting our doors blown off multiple times a year in conference and praying we can get 6 wins. You think we strike lightning with a coach again who has CLEARLY lifted the floor and increased the ceiling? I wouldn’t bet on that based on our illustrious history.

“Platued” isn’t a word actually so…

Once again, theres a difference between saying he should be fired, which 0 people have done in this thread, and asking why issues from year 2 are still present in year 7. If you cant handle that you must have a rough time on the internet

Once again, find a post saying we should fire him. Nobody is saying that so im not sure why I keep reading posts from people thinking thats whats being said.

I think people are forgetting that Kansas State was held to 10 points in a home loss to Tulane two weeks ago.
Martinez was being to conservative in that game, he played not to lose, very conservative. The coaches told him to not over think the game and just go out and be himself, do what he does best, make the other team chose their poison. So the last two games that is what is he did. We can't count on them playing like they did against Tulane.

Hopefully Campbell uses this off season to shake up the staff a bit.

Our offense and special teams have consistently underperformed.

They say in football that to win games, you must win at least 2 of the 3 phases (offense, D, special teams)…. We have to get more out of those two units.

And we need to upgrade the talent on both of those units through recruiting.

Lol, I was at that game. Usually when teams are "playing not to lose" they don't go for it on 4th down 5 times instead of punting.

It turns out Tulane is looking like a bowl team, they had a good game plan, shut down Vaughn and make Martinez beat them through the air. Fortunately Martinez couldn't hit the broad side of a barn that day so their plan worker.

Our defense will be by far the best they've faced all year. Tech and Oklahoma are a total joke. The game won't be the automatic layup win for K-State you guys are thinking. Their recievers and tight ends are poor and we have a better defense.
