I always think a good rule of thumb when looking at Coach X being fired was justified or not is is would you want Coach X to be the next at Iowa State?

I fully expect the Texas coach to be fired if we beat him this year. Hell, Venebles at OU too.....

So iowa will beat wiscy and nebby at home… both who just fired there coaches. Then we get to hear how great they are. That west.

Actually Nebby looked ok against Indiana, I don't think that will be a gimme even though it is at Kinnick.

Can't see venables getting fired after year 1, but it certainly warms up the seat a lot quicker if this year is a dumpster fire.

Kansas fans better start getting nervous, Leipold is beloved in Wisconsin.
In the bowl season I feel either Nebraska or WI will hire Leopold. Just makes too much sense. Zero shot he'd stay at KU after catching lightning in a bottle for one year.

Or maybe he wants to build something where there's no pressure before he retires.

Does Nebraska really want to interject their program with another old dude?

WI makes a little more sense as he'd lay a foundation before getting out for good.

On Wisconsin
Id agree that theyre not going to take the top away from OSU.

However, I think a fairer target would be being competitive vs the likes of MSU\PSU and anyone else that rises up towards the upper end behind OSU. With the playoff expanding to 12, a team like Wisconsin doesnt need to be at OSU's level, they just need to be at the level behind it. Basically being consistently a top 15-20 team, with occasional years in the top 10 and make the expanded playoff, which I think there is at least some historical precedent for. They aren't there this year and weren't at that level 3 of the last 4 seasons.
I agree with that, but I also think Chryst can get them there. Or at least it isn't obvious that he can't get them back there.

What else are big ten teams going to spend the now unlimited cash on? Quite a non profit enterprise.

Funny. “Another Old dude”. He’s probably 54.
