You are missing out on HyVee Chinese and their BBQ ribs.

General Hy-Vee's Chicken. Not the greatest, but not the worst. Any shortcomings are made up by the large serving size

Our Hy-Vee had the greatest Santa I've ever seen. The man looked the part and was an absolute sweetheart. My boy's first pic with Mr. C was in front of the fried chicken.

We classy that way.

H-E-B was very busy at the Austin location I hit. Seemed like a good store.

Around here we have the worst chain grocery store. Jewel-Osco is absolutely the worst shopping experience. I have never been to one where the employees or customers seemed happy. The stores have all been rundown and not updated since Clinton was in office.

A lot like this area in general
Bill or Hillary?, asking for a friend.

I have never once said, let's go to Hy-vee for supper.

We've gone there for Easter brunch when they have this really awesome buffet selection.

We also get their Thanksgiving Special when we host Thanksgiving - pretty good deal and the Prime Rib is really good.

I don't doubt they have good food, It just never crosses my mind to do that.

Probably write it off as a business expense too... o_O

Do it all the time for lunch and dinner in my house. Quick, easy, good variety, inexpensive.
Before they gave up on full service, my wife would occasionally go there on Friday nights after work. Once they moved to Express, I haven't gone back.

Just for fun...the map below is about a 6 mi x 4 mi area around where I live. There are three Albertsons/Kroger pairs in that area. Walmart/Walmart Neighborhood Market win though with 4 locations... grocery.png

Every couple of months we go to Hy-Vee (or is it Wahlburgers?). Very kid friendly which is appealing. Its been a gamble for a while. Sometimes its very good, the other times... well it will be awhile before we go back.

That is interesting, thanks for sharing. Not living in an Albertson's or Kroger market, I tended to think that they mostly operated in different regions. I was unaware that they competed directly like this.

I would be shocked if Kroger didn't have stores where you lived. Maybe it's called Dillon's, Pick n Save, Roundy's, Fred Meyer, Smith's, Ralph's, King Soopers and those are just the ones I can think of. They are everywhere.
