This is my issue. We knew Dekkers could do this against SEMU and Ohio. Didn’t see it much against an elite Iowa team. But why, oh why, did we have such a conservative passing game the first 3 weeks, especially against inferior defenses in Kansas State and Kansas?
Dekkers is doing an outstanding job in his first year (with no supporting cast from the running backs.) As others have said, however, he must learn when to slide. Unless there is a first down at stake, slide.

Second, the INT in the end zone. Very poor decision. His single receiver was clearly blanketed by several defenders. He HAS to see the defense when everything is in close, like it was there.

Antics aside, I liked the analysis given by the announcers. A good running commentary and evaluation of our pluses and minus.

I think RG3 is/will be really good at it. He's really fun IMO.

If ISU had found a way to pull out the KU and KSU wins I would’ve been very encouraged by the offense and Dekkers. They made a major jump this week. However these guys just need some Ws in the worst way.

I do think they can get to 6-6 and carry some nice momentum into next year.

Looked like the staff simplified the reads for Dekkers in the Texas game. In the FART podcast Jeff talked about possibly rolling Dekkers out and basically eliminating half of the field for him. Looked like they did a lot more of that and he looked a lot more comfortable this week. All part of the progression with a young QB. Look at Ewers, our defense had him looking young and confused at times. OU had him winning a Heisman.

This is the first time I've felt ISU will not make a bowl game. This is a 4-5 win team. There seems to be special teams gaffs each week, it's really amazing it can happen so often. Before yesterday ISU was ranked somewhere around 110 in offensive efficiency... that's real bad.

As others have said, I'd really like to see Scheelhause elevated. I don't care what happens to Manning. OL needs help, again. Year after year. Winning in the margins won't happen with our current construction.

This loss stings as we played very well against a solid team in a difficult environment. Offense looked competent with little to no rushing options. Not having a healthy Brock or Norton is rough. Our scheme was better AND Dekkers did a great job of spreading the ball around.

Defense overall was really good. MJ Anderson looks to be a guy who’s going to dominate for the next two years. Our young LBs were solid and our DBs were above average.

I truly don’t understand the punt stuff. It’s just unreal at this point. And yet again we have a game where we make huge mistakes, don’t capitalize in big moments, and fail to receive any sort of help from the officials. That non-targeting call was inexcusable.

This bye week couldn’t have come at a better time. We need to regroup and get a win. 4-4 puts us in solid position to still make a bowl, which is the goal right now.

He's been a pleasant surprise. It's good we get another year of him.
Unelss Dean is hurt they have overhyped him unfortunately.
Think this staff has a problem with overhyping guys. I get liking what you have, and having confidence in guys to step up. But with that being said, between the “15 guy deep O-line”, Easton Dean hype, and the Dekkers having interest from SEC schools comment, I think I’m at the point where I’ll believe it when I see it.

To those who didn’t think it was targeting, here you go. Clear helmet to helmet contact right away.

People really need to let it go. Yep, it sucks but if you watched the 20 games I did yesterday (6 tvs on), you would have seen a lot of other questionable calls. They happen to everybody and that’s part of the game. Sometimes it makes a difference, sometimes it doesn’t. Who know how it would have ended but move on.

It's the day after the game with a new video angle. Let people talk about it.

I think people would be more chill about it if the pendulum ever swung the other way. It doesn't. We just get ****** over a ton and then rinse and repeat.

Are you serious? These corrupt Big 12 officials decided the game. What would you like us to discuss otherwise?

There are lots of corrections we could make to avoid hoping the officials get a call right in crunch time. I don’t think the refs are biased so much as just terrible at their jobs. The Big12 always gets the cheapest crews and it shows.
I’d like to see Dekkers slide. If he instead chooses to run like a RB, he needs to put two arms around the ball.
Speaking of RB, we gotta get JBrock healthy over the bye week or more losses will follow.
I’d also like to see our top receiver make the game winning catch at some point. Drops 3 weeks in a row on game-deciding plays. He usually catches everything so I wonder if he is getting too gassed at the end of games. Does he need more plays off? Or is the issue between the ears? Hope the coaches will put some thought into that.
And the Special Teams are still awful. Like really terrible. CMC might be the only coach in America that doesn’t put emphasis into the 3rd phase of the game.
