I like the extra practices for a young team and to see some potential for players that play well in the bowl game, but thinking one game gives 'momentum' 9 months later never makes sense.
Hooray. ISUs record also isn’t above .500 since that game.
Several analyses have shown that bowl performance is overrated but last-half-season performance is UNDERrated when it comes to predicting the next year. I take it that if we go bowling it means we got better in the second half of the season, which bodes well for next year.
Back when invites were handed out 2-3 weeks before the end of the season.
If the bowls had been forced to wait until the regular season was over, that team would have stayed home.

Would cause eye damage to retinas across Iowa (nobody outside of Iowa would watch) and possibility fry TV circuit boards.
Would we deserve it? Probably not but is 6-6 much more deserving? We would never turn it down so hope we get at least 5!

In the context of the history of ISU, it was a dumb thing to say. 6-6 is the benchmark every year
Putting everything in yesterdays context is worse.
Example, ISU has had a really good WBB program for decades now under Fennelly and we still have to hear about how bad ISU WBB was prior to that. The only thing that matters is the now, not the back than.
I'd be okay with it only because of the extra practices. Literally the only thing that would matter.
