I have read a bunch of reviews anyone have first hand stories? We have lightning fast internet and great router so does it even matter that much? This TV almost exclusively used for ESPN+ watching volleyball.

I can't speak for the others but I've been using an Amazon Firestick for 5 years now and absolutely love it.

Both are too slow to watch sports, I went Apple TV.

Tell me more pls. I haven't been thrilled with my Roku and youtube tv streaming. What is it about the apple tv components that allows for a better experience? Maybe I need to switch.

I had to switch to a Roku for ESPN+ I thought it was my internet causing buffering issues when I used Chromecast but had the same issues after a significant upgrade in internet service to a 500 MB fiber service and still had the same issues I had on a much slower DSL connection. Once I switched to a Roku it was night and day. Granted I don't remember how old the chromecast is I have so maybe the age of that was part of the issue but have really enjoyed the extra features that come with the Roku over Chromecast.

I had a Roku for the last few years and don’t have any issues, but you need to make sure you don’t get the cheapest model (without the power button and volume control). Spend the extra $10-20 and get the one with those controls and it works great.

The 2 firesticks I had were trash. I like roku; apple tv is good too but more expensive.

I did buy an Apple TV 4 used off Ebay for cheaper and it works good. Also able to connect to my soundbar via bluetooth with it.

No issues with roku via smart tv, usb stick, or stand alone wired unit. Have used with both Mediacom and fiber internet.

have an OG Chromecast and it is faster than a 2nd gen firestick. I generally prefer the navigation on firetv compared to bringing up media on tv/ phone. Firetv does let you "cast" from a majority of services however.

I've had Chromecast and Amazon Firestick and prefer the Firestick. However, I don't have the newest generation of either, so maybe things have changed. Have only used Roku in AirBnB's and still prefer Firestick, but that could just be a familiarity thing. In my opinion though, Firestick has the best user interface.

Have 2 Rokus, one is an Express on a small bedroom TV and the other is the a step up that I think has 4K which we use on the Living room TV. Don't buy the cheapest model. I prefer the remote on the 4k one as it has a mute button. Own a Toshiba Fire TV and that interface is slow compared to Roku. Also have an LG Smart TV which has the fastest interface of all of them, but the navigation buttons on the remote feel awkward. The Fire TV is the one that has the worst quality issues.

If you search I think there have been a number of other threads discussing this subject. I've had both and am switching everything over to Roku.
