Georgia made a late push for Tampa coming out of high school. Won't be surprised if they go after him again.
I would be shocked if they went after Tampa considering the CB recruits they had in the last class and this year class. If I am not mistaken, each class has 4 CB recruits that are top 200 nationally. Three of those 8 are 5* recruits.

Additionally their coach specifically took time after their TN win to mention how they don’t have any transfers (I believe he was talking last year class), like it’s a badge of honor.

But some other schools could make an offer.

Hope this isn't just the beginning of a mass exodus this offseason.

I hope so too. But if I had to guess, with the current Transfer Portal popularity, we will have 8-12 guys move on for greener pastures. Just the state of college football.

I know the gameday threads are a cesspool, but I didn't think Tampa was well thought of. Then the past couple weeks people are talking about him leaving for the SEC. Tough to keep up with.

I had high hopes for Blake Peterson, but when they moved Singleton to DE, that was a sign to me that he wasn't the answer I had hoped. He was the likely starter at DE after Enyi left and they ended up moving a NG outside. Peterson was never going to be the pass rushing DE, but I figured he would have first and second downs kind of locked up. Oh well, good luck to him at SDSU or USD (I'm guessing). They might have to hit the portal here.

I think that they go into next year with a DL that looks like this:
DE: Anderson, J. Peterson
NG: Orange, Brown
DE: Singleton, Onyedim

Then hope we see some growth from Ezeogu, Jayden Gray, Hammann, Trent Jones. It would not surprise me to see TRFR Hammond get some snaps. Or maybe Samuel Same as a designated pass rusher.

I always wonder this too...unless by entering the portal now, he can get in with a new team for January/spring ball?

I would assume still on the team and doing the day to day stuff, but just decided to not be part of the program past the season.
I had asked an administrator about this previously and you can technically be in the portal and still play for current team if coach allows. The thought was maybe this would occur with some of the teams with interim coaches, but would be stunned if this happened with Blake.

Yea CMC has never let anyone hang around after declaring they were transferring
Seems if a kid says he's entering the portal during the season, he's raising the white flag and doesn't want to go through the practice and prep.

Not a fan of a kid quitting during the season. Never know when a rash of position injuries occur. But this does allow Blake to get his me out early and some schools might prefer him to a HS or JUCO fall signee.
