So Drake ended up beating them by 32 after being favored by 27.5, which was surprisingly more than we were favored by. As most of us shared - probably not able to take too much away from that game but hopefully learn more about the team Sunday.
Wilkins only played 6 minutes. That's a huge piece of their team basically sidelined. Solid shooter and all defensive team guy. If he gets to full strength they could have a very special year.
IUPUI sucks but Drake's no joke. They look like a solid team.
I was at the game, looked up and took a picture of the scoreboard at the point!
BTW, Tucker Devries is SO GOOD!
Yeah Tucker has P5 size and skill playing in the MVC. Could make a push for player of the year in that conference this year or next.
What did you think of the Texas Tech/ Florida state transfer? Think he ended up with 18.
This made me laugh - I have a picture of a scoreboard showing 39-0 when my adult league team had to play a few guys from the ‘08 Drake squad some years back. We told the refs we were done when they got to 100.
Yes they did. I watched that whole game. IUPUI looked gassed. Not to mention playing on only two nights rest, but also they did have player go down against us that did not play vs Drake. So shorthanded and playing on a quick turn around.
Drake's 2nd unit looked more evenly matched with IUPUI, but still better by a considerable margin. I am hoping DeVries can get Drake back to the tournament this year. They looked impressive.
Drake is going to be really good this year. Penn and Wilkins need to get healthy and I think they will be good enough for an auto bid. Devries is a stud and the Florida St transfer looks really good. They also appear to have more interior depth than the last couple years.
I didn't even notice Penn isn't back yet either. They may end up with some serious depth if he and Wilkins get back to full speed.

I was impressed with the 6-10 kid from Truman St., Calhoun, Burns and Enright. All new to the rotation.
And return Penn, Wilkins, Sturtz, Devries, Ferguson and Brody (he really improved his body) and they will terrorize the Valley.
