Why? If not for Heacock - who’s single-handedly keeping the ship afloat - this is a terrible situation.
Been a debacle year for sure but I’m not going to assess the big picture on this year. It’s gotta be addressed by cmc for next year though or we lose in the portal quickly

Seriously over the past several season how many time has this team turn the ball over near or in the red zone.
Purdy pick against Baylor, Breece fumble vs WV, those are just a couple off the top of my head.

Today 2 more?

It has killed this team in so many games and a big part why they lose close ones.

The thing that is going to hurt, potentially into next year, is since we won't make a bowl game, we won't get the extra practices, which is something that really hurt the Rhoads era teams.
I’m not sure if three extra weeks with Manning will really help much. It might be more beneficial for the offense to take some time off, then come back in the spring with a new OC.

The suck ass online doesn’t throw to the other team repeatedly.
Give it a rest. Dekkers threw 1 bad int. The others were on the receiver. Once again Dekkers ‘willed’ us to almost win. My god He threw a perfect strike to win it for us and it was dropped ! Dekkers isn’t perfect but he’s the only reason we have been in games in my opinion. Well ..the D of course helps LOL.

Sick and tired of losing! If someone says that we are close I will get sick. We need to stop accepting mediocrity!!!
Dude we are in Iowa. We aren’t going to get 4 and 5 star recruits. It sucks. Come to terms with our ceiling. Life is much easier this way.

Stanley lost 1 in the sun (or some bs) and Noel dropped a TD my 5th grader would have caught. Do your ******* job D1 receivers.

XHutch lost us the game he had an ‘end of game’ drop. Noel lost this one. So that is 2 losses that should be wins. Of course the FG miss early was another mind ****. Never seen a team so cursed. Other teams DO NOT make these mistakes. I can’t explain it. It’s incomprehensible.

Dekkers through a bad ball inside the OSU 20. One of the few times he had tons of time, an easy pitch and catch and he throws a high heater. Just hit him in the numbers.

His pocket presence is lacking, his game presence is lacking, that play where he dove to early to get first down, several turnovers in the redzone this year.

I think ISU coaches sometimes over coach and get into the kids heads. Purdy I think just ingnored some of what he was told, and could deal with it. But to me Manning has the ability to **** with a QB's head.

He needs a different voice next year or he will struggle. Look what Dykes has done for Duggan.

He’s just not that good, yet anyways. He can make the throws, physically he’s fine, but he’s just not a good QB.

Agree is he is MAC or maybe MWC level. He is raw, and I am just not convinced about the kind of coaching he is getting.

Purdy was a coach on the field, he and Breece hid many of the warts the offense had

Honest question, what makes a lot of you think Scheelhause would be a good coordinator? I see he's over RBs and WRs and they are not performing. I mean NFL prospects make a coach look smart, but I'm not seeing these groups look consistent without that talent. I believe our issues are OL, but not sure Nate would do anything better than Manning. Guess it wouldn't hurt to try though.

They need new blood and new ideas on offense. No promotions from within.

Anybody in the program will tell you CMC is very integral in the Offense and Manning plays the exact schemes that he wants. That's why it hasn't changed or evolved in years.

Now, CMC needs to be here for the long-term, but HE has to evolve offensively or just changing the guy wearing the coordinator headset isn't going to matter.

I really believe he’s going to get other colleges interested in him. He may xfer. If he gets any vibe that Campbell is keeping Manning around that is bad. If he gets benched to let some other guys get some play time that is bad too. I am honestly pulling for the kid here .. over the Cyclones. I think he has talent and would be better served at program that focused on passing, pass protection and WR’s.

Campbell / Manning has little upside when you have a gun like Dekkers. A QB whisperer could do something with him.

I wish I was available but I’m focused on my drinking and bowling right now !
