Texas A$M has officially missed a bowl game. We're not even remotely close right now to being good with how we play offense, but it's nice to see that being pay to win only is not an effective to win more college football games

I know his buyout is insane and he keeps bringing in elite recruits, but can't believe there won't be an oil tycoon writing a check to make a change. Jimbo was always overrated and it's catching up with him.

I bet someone will and they'll make another splash hire that goes the same way, because programs like them rarely learn.

Not that we're anything close to it right now, but it does feel nice to see that the NIL only teams aren't dominating the sport. It says that if we make the right moves maybe we have a shot someday, even with the lack of pay for play funds

This offseason should tell us a lot. Last year was the first year and there were a LOT of schools that didn't get too far into NIL as they were trying to figure out the boundaries. As they step in this year, some of the guys we would previously have a chance at may be even harder to get - especially offensive playmakers. Those that could come in and make an immediate impact will have high prices.

If Hutchinson goes in 2nd round, we could have 2 starting WRs in the NFL. And Dekkers is already a proven QB. I would think we could get a talented WR to transfer to ISU.

Unfortunately right now X isn't even in the Top 15 WR prospects according to the last Big Board.

Not even top 30 according to some other sites. Unfortunately, also Will McDonald is slipping down rankings as well. (I see him outside of the top 10 rushers on most boards now) Looks like another year to tack on our 1st round draft drought.

X goes undrafted?

No he gets drafted. His production is too high for scouting departments to ignore
I have yet to see a draft board/mock draft that has him even sniffing the draft. I'm not saying he shouldn't be, just saying that's the current reality.

It just sucks when your best ever or damn near best ever can't even get drafted.

I know they took Hakeem but...that worked out for no one

X will be drafted. It will be on day 2 or 3, but he will be drafted.

Unfortunately, that's the reality for a program like ours. We just are nowhere near most other programs. In one of my other replies on another post a month or so ago, I listed all the colleges that have more players in the NFL than we do currently, and it's definitely a disheartening amount of mid/bad programs, like for instance Temple was on that list.

The absolute highest I've seen him listed is as 22nd at his position which would put him in 7th round.

I dont remember the site, but there was a mock that had him in the first round to the Packers. That won't happen, but my point is several draft boards are over the place this time of year. He's good enough to get drafted, and will be drafted.

A balm of OU/T and AtM losses soothes for about 12 seconds.

Then 5 TO's happen again and the dull ache settles back in.
