I’m gonna love when this team runs into teams from other major conferences that are all basically soft. Our d is like last year but with way more team rebounding upside.

I think more capable players are available too to at least throw out there to screw up the opponent.

Interesting comparisons to NC at v iowa.
Halftime there was 52-32.
Game turnivers for nc in that game, 22. We've forced 13 so far.

I'd like to see any sort of miscellaneous stats on how they ranked last year but something I enjoy about TJ ball is how much they embrace tightening the screws on D to end halves.
Teams have to know they're going from a generally tough D to a hornets' nest.

Yeah it’s a much more balanced roster. We had one guy who could create his own offense last year and happened to also be the best rebounder. I see guys all over the place who can win a rebound vs last year.

I hope Eli figures out defense because I’m fairly confident that’s why he isn’t gonna be playing much. This team will still need to win defensively.

I'd guess Iowa is still into their run, run, run so more possessions but also can't defend when they need to.

I hope A&T continues to full court press us…. it will be good practice for Iowa.

Also of note: boards in iowa game were pretty even: 40-42.
Were dominating the glass, 23-12.

I can’t wait to see how we rebound vs elite big 12 level. I think it’s gonna be a crazy upgrade.

Should help avoid the long stretches of schedule we struggled so much. I’m guessing we lose 2-4 non conf (even our best teams didn’t go 14-0 like last year) but win 2-3 more in league for similar resume.

That makes me feel good.

When you have a team that loves to play fast and loose going against a team that thrives on defending, I believe the advantage goes to the latter because that team will dictate the pace of the game (a little like our games against UNI in the past).

I believe we will impose our will on Iowa, just like we did last year. We will also take the Carver Hawkeye crowd out of the game.

What Carver crowd?

I know, I know you need to take the opponent into account, but Lipsey is more prepared to contribute than I thought he might be.
