I like your points, but what about our coaching lapses?
We've played some inept defenses and come up very short.
Here's my view on that. K-State's Will Howard sucked until this year. Why? Because although talented he was young and inexperienced, plus coaches, primarily Messingham, didn't trust him or themselves.

Your QB is nearing the end of his freshman year, no longer a frosh, but closer to a sophomore in experience. He's obviously - to me - talented. That experience coupled with ISU coaching adjustments (trust) will start to pay dividends down the stretch.

Clones win this one with defense. Offense provides just enough.

See, I'm not really complaining about the young QB per se. I don't believe our offensive coaches will make adjustments. They repeat the same errors and calls constantly.

It comes with trust in the QB, that's my thinking. These guys didn't build the program and then forget everything they learned along the way - being ranked in the top ten last year.

As an outsider, I seem to have more appreciation and faith in CMC and staff than Cy fans. Easier for me, I suppose.

Well yeah, but you were saying similar things about Steve Prohm when things were clearly going downhill. Not sure I can fully trust your opinion on us.

I think with past Kingsbury and Wells teams Saturday would be a mortgage your house on ISU type game considering the ISU defense and the weather. This McGuire era seems different so far. They're not necessarily winning a lot, but they're fighting hard and they haven't folded yet this season(you could argue it was close to folding vs. Baylor). Like ISU, most of the losses are within 10 points. We'll see how this new McGuire era team handles life in Ames. My only expectation for this game is ugly.
My expectations were absolutely met. This game was ugly.

The Joey McGuire era of Texas Tech football is built different. This is the least talented team he'll ever have, but they're punching way above their weight class and never give up. The days of teams beating Texas Tech by 50+ are over.

I'll be rooting for ISU next week. Please humble TCU!
