I think ours was around 800 to pour it myself but probably add another 2-300 bucks in concrete for a thicker pad because of the hot tub. I’m assuming they quoted a 6 inch slab? I think that’s pretty reasonable to not screw with it.

I believe that is correct. It's a guy I know so I assumed it was a reasonable quote. However, once he told me how much they paid for their hot tub I canceled those plans right quick! Maybe we look into doing it ourselves next year. Still got to get that shed and pergola built this year. I desperately need a place to store my stuff so I can park in my garage again!

Talked to a concrete guy a few months ago as we were looking to pour the same size pad for a hot tub and I believe he was quoting around 3k.

My next project is a pergola and shed. Looking forward to both!

I think I need to do a shed soon. What are you going to do?

What do you want out of your shed and what do you want for the base? Planning to do a rock base or treated wood in the dirt?

Best option would be to piece it together by yourself with 2x4 walls and finishes (siding and roof) that match the house. How big? Windows for light?

That being said, some of the kits out there will do.

I still don’t have a shed because other things have taken priority like our fence and soon to be deck. I couldn’t park in the garage regardless but maybe my wife could.

We’ve been tossing the idea around about a pergola but it’s just so expensive right now to do it right. We might wait to do an actual covered deck since we poured the pad off to the side.

I'm struggling in my mind with cheap/easy vs slow/better. :jimlad:

Seriously though, I have not decided. It's a little sloped there so the rock base is probably not the best answer. But haven't thought about specifics much.

How sloped? Can you dig a little dirt? Go slow and better if you’re gonna live there long term. You will not regret it.

A rock base might be best on a little slope. Put some 4x6 ground contact timbers into the slope and then level it out with gravel. Set the shed right on top of the gravel.

This is exactly my plan. The grade isn't too bad so I'll level out a pad, put down gravel for drainage then set my shed on that gravel pad. Also helps keep the costs down for when I eventually want to put in a proper garage.

I don't know if this is against the forum rules, so please let me know if it is and I will delete.

I have a Jet 1.5 HP table saw for sale. Has 30", mitre guage, and blade. The saw is in really good condition and is a great daw for the home DIYer and for any small shop. Asking $650.

Bumping this because I finally got our decking and deck rails done. Don’t mind the stairs, I still have to cut new stringers and do the rails.

My question is on the finish. Anyone have luck with either the Pittsburg or Cabot semi-transparent stains from Menards? Also looking at the Cabot Australian Oil. The decking is cedar. I’ll go somewhere else if another brand holds up better but I have menards rebates to use.

I don't think I've posted this yet....Last month we had our 17 year old builder grade carpet replaced in our upstairs. I thought it would be a good time to do something with my office. So far very happy and I'm glad I went with the butcher block to increase depth.

Home Depot 72x39 Cut down to 72x35

Ikea drawers and 6 legs

Anyone got on any recommendations on vacuums? My ShopVac took a dump on me (literally started on fire). I don’t need anything fancy just something to collect dust when I’m making cuts with my miter and occasionally clean a car.

I have a ridgid vac that is way better than the shopvac that I had before. We also have a ryobi cordless wet/dry vac that so far has been good.

Go Ridgid in whatever size and price point you want. Don’t go ShopVac.
