They are on separate contracts. John Heacock is the team for the last 6 years. The wins are because of John Heacock. Would do everything possible to retan John Heacock. You are right CMC is nothing without John Heacock.

IF that's true, then Campbell would do everything possible to bring him to Ohio with him. I wouldn't hold out hope that the random new guy that we hire will be able to convince Heacock to stay. That's ludicrous.

Would be an improvement if CMC and Tom manning leaves. As long as we can retain John Heacock.

Heacock is 62. And had a very mediocre head coaching record at Youngstown State after taking over from Tressel. Heacock will not stay under a new HC. Heacock will not take Iowa State job. And we would not be improved by Campbell leaving.

Yes it will be very hard.

Make John Heacock the Head Coach, give him CMC contract money. CMC wont be able to get him that kind of money at DC.

Let him bring some G5 offensive / Specials teams staff.

They will be better then what we have currently.

Heacock is defensive coach. Yet he can just bring in any G5 offensive / special teams staff and our offensive problems will be miraculously fixed. You are a freaking genius. So easy to do.

Heacock was a god awful head coach that ran the best IAA in the country at the time into the ground, made the playoffs once in 8 years and lost to Mark Farley all 8 times he played him by an average of 19 points.

Hiring him is the quickest assurance you can be the next Georgia Tech or Indiana.

Shocked they didn’t hire Leonhard. The cupboard is pretty thin right now but he at least made them respectable for what they had. This likely makes a lot more sense in a recruiting and attempt to bring a new style to Wisc.
That's the headline for me - everyone said they kicked Chryst because they didn't want to lose Leonhard.

Love Heacock as D Coordinator but can we stop suggesting him as a HC?
If he wanted to be a HC, he would be one somewhere - someone would have given him a shot at a MAC school worst case. I don't know him at all, but it all looks like he knows who he is, what he likes and is good at, and he has a great relationship with CMC. I would be stunned if he went anywhere without CMC.

If this all did go down.

Fickel to Wisky
Campbell to cinci
Leonard to Iowa State

I’m just playing here. I don’t think Campbell leaves but I could see Leonard to Cinci

We won one conference game this year. One.

We just got boatraced.

Our offense is worse than year 1 with CPR's leftovers.

We still can't run hurry-up or manage timeouts.

We don't self-scout effectively.

Our style of play is boring and predictable.

Our offensive players regressed this year.

We didn't change anything and just kept trying the same plays.

The excuses are old and insulting.

Won't be improved?

How could we get worse?

Campbell is 42. He is an accomplished head coach. I trust him to fix things. IMO he has earned it given the success he has had and the depths that he brought us from. We have been much worse. Including the years before Campbell got here.

Perhaps you will get your wish and Campbell is no longer HC. That does not necessarily mean we get better. Be careful what you wish for.
