I am looking forward to the 2023 football schedule release with 14 teams in the Big 12 next season. It would be released sometime in the next 1-2 weeks if tradition holds. Does anyone know anything?

BYU will be on the schedule because they are going to be considered our protected rival. Other than that I don't think we know anything quite yet.

Could be getting this at the end of this week or early next week.

“We had a call this morning; we will not have divisions, “We’ll announce next year’s schedule in early December, which is pretty much when it has been done previously. And over a two-year period, each of the schools will play each other at least once. Excited about what that schedule will look like when we finally put it out.”

Do we know that every will only have one rival? I would much rather have at least two and add K-State to the list.

ISU and KSU have played every year since 1917. It’s the longest uninterrupted series in all of college football. And the series is now 52-50-4, and it’s 3-3 dating back to 2017.

ISU and KSU have played every year since 1917. It’s the longest uninterrupted series in all of college football.

Everyone will have 5 permanent rivals for the next 2 years with no divisions and 9 conference games. That means 4 non-rivals in 2023 and the other 4 non-rivals in 2024. KSU and KU are guaranteed to be with ISU. I'd bet money we also get Cincinnati. The other two will be whoever makes sense to accommodate other conference rivalry games. Everyone will get at least 1 more game against OU and Texas.

So for example.... (this is all guessing)
2023 (5 Big 12 road games & 4 Big 12 home games with Iowa at home)
at KSU (rival)
KU (rival)
Cincinnati (rival)
at WVU (rival)
at BYU (rival)

Texas
Oklahoma State
at Tech
at UCF

2024 (4 Big 12 road games & 5 Big 12 home games with at Iowa)
KSU (rival)
at KU (rival)
at Cincinnati (rival)
WVU (rival)
BYU (rival)

at Oklahoma
at Baylor
TCU
Houston

And then it will all change again in 2025.
