"The payout will increase slightly in the second year of the deal before it jumps to roughly $100 million per school, annually, starting in 2025. That's based purely on the media deal and does not include revenue from making the College Football Playoff, bowl games or NCAA Tournament."
The Big Ten on Thursday announced a record-smashing media rights deal with CBS, Fox, NBC and Peacock. Breaking down the deal and what it means for fans moving forward:

That doesn't seem right. There are plenty of other reports saying the B1G expects to
distribute $80-100M per school, all in. Here is just one example:

That is in line with the "one billion dollars per year" talking point associated with their latest media rights deal, which shakes out to $62.5M when split 16 ways.
Maybe the Sporting News report misunderstood that the projections do not include CFP money coming from a 12-team CFP, since no one yet knows what that money will look like.
It would not surprise me to see the B1G and SEC exceed $100M per school including lucrative money from the 12-team CFP, while the Big 12, Pac-12, and ACC are hanging around near $50M. I have no idea what this sport starts to look like when Rutgers and Mississippi State are clearing $50M more per year than Washington or Oklahoma State or even Clemson, at least for the next decade.
