If you don’t contribute as a freshman here, chances are you won’t ever contribute here. Spare me the Naz Long comparisons. He’s the 5%
Our freshman have kind of been an enigma.
They're either stars eventually, or they are the THT, Lindell, Halli at most 2 year players, or they are the guys that kinda stick it out but don't improve a ton like Conditt, Solo, Tre.

There is a reason he’s not getting into the games. Tight bench, defense, but our weakness is our guards and I hope that he can provide us something from the backcourt when our Gabe and Caleb are off. We just need some consistency from our “shooters”

I don't want to pile on the OP specifically ... doesn't hurt to ask a question and not everyone sees every thread, so no harm in a repeat (in some cases).

More of a general observation: Is our fan base (at least on CF) more obsessed than typical about minutes for deep-bench players?

Eli King is this season's Jaden Walker, it appears.
This. We are all Cyclones, what’s the value of ripping a fellow fan asking a question. Could’ve been a 3 post thread.

Correct - it's confusing he didn't make it into the game tonight. It was a blowout.
Well Fran didn't remove starters until < minute remained even though we stopped trying to compete much earlier and he had a 20+ point lead for nearly the entire game.

Losing team should wave the white flag. Everybody should've played tonight; starters, subs, end of bench, managers, janitors, mascot, ...

Imagine watching the team that recruited you hard demolishing your current team without their best player. Also knowing the opposing coach had great plans for you to be an important contributor and being the consummate team supporter from the bench. Then in a totally lopsided game seeing not one second of play. Hard pill to swallow! Respect !

There is no way he can be worse than Holmes either. Holmes literally dribbled the ball of his feet 3 times tonight.

He's athletic as hell but watch Eli shoot 3's in warmups and you'll see why he's not playing (yet).

There was a young man, as legend tells it that grew up on 400 wooded acres outside Fon Du Lac, Wi.. He had a dream also. You see, young Jimmy was only 3'7" & 49lbs. he could take you inside take you outside and was a hell of a rebounder. He could take a punch better than his older siblings and for that reason he got punched a lot. Let that sink in.

There's no way Eli is worse than Gabe.
At the very least, his mistakes would be new and exciting!

I get that benching Gabe completely would be rough for him and by all accounts he's been a great leader, but my goodness he isn't bringing positives on offense, and defense is far more of a team thing than people generally think. Unless King just straight up can't compete at this level, I'd like to see him get a shot in a live game and see if he turns it on or something.
