The thread about the Oregon football player getting a 9th year of eligibility got me thinking back on people I knew from college who were "professional students". Most because of degree changes.

What are some of drastic degree changes people experienced themselves or by friends.

I was pretty boring- from PolySci to Business. But had one friend go from Ag Bus to Pre-Med (after 4 years) and another Business to Forestry.

Those of you that remember "Wild Bill", he never left ames. Graduated initially @64. Don't know how many degrees he ended up with. Retired from ISU. Probably still taking classes.

Bill and one of the Litzels were some of the most unique, crazy, and smart guys I've ever met.

I changed majors three times, once at every quarter break, my first year at Iowa State. I originally wanted to be an elementary school teacher, then switched to history, then switched to liberal arts. I also flirted with journalism with an advertising emphasis (I wanted to be Darren Stevens), then settled on just plain journalism. It was a bumpy ride for sure. I was so unsure what I wanted to major in that I took several years off before finally going back, still unsure what I wanted to major in. I chose journalism because it was unlike any other degree. They wanted you to have a working knowledge on many different subjects, so they made you take a lot of electives and required fewer credits in your major to get a degree.
