2022/23 Coaching Staff Changes

Oddly enough, I had to run up to UNI to pick something up this morning for a donor and he was in the office. Didn't really have a chance to talk to him without being incredibly rude to the person I was working with but I thought that was kind of weird that he's still hanging around.
Maybe a 1/3 start date in Ames for contract purposes or something?
Langs is the guy I’ve confirmed with sources. Waiting to announce all moves officially once all hires are done. Expect Kempt to be QB coach

I really like how this played out. A great mix of retention/familiarity and youth/experience. If anything lacking in the experience category, but that can be a good thing.
OC - Nate
Youth, but also familiarity with the program. Retention matters, a huge amount of turn over in coaching rarely is successful quickly.
RB - Waters (rumor)
Supposedly a team favorite with a bright coaching future - I know the least about this guy.
QB - Kempt (rumor)
Obviously has familiarity with the QB's. Always the first person who Dekkers/Purdy talked to after coming off the field. Seems to have a bright coaching future. May lack experience, but seems to be to be worth the gamble.
OL - Clanton
Home run hire in the most needed position. I have huge hope for this guy and the position. Seems like a future OC if he's as good as advertised.
DB - Langs
Love the experience and youth this guy brings. Seems like he could be a future DC if he's as good as advertised.
The announcement of Clanton hasn’t happened yet because the HR department has this week off, but there should be an official announcement the first week of January where multiple coach hirings will be announced
I hope we take our time and find a great recruiter to come in and be our Recruiting Coordinator and running backs coach. Put Scheelhause as QB Coach
Nate and Clanton are both already known as great recruiters. The rest certainly seem like they would be as well.
Nate is the WR coach and OC, he’s not taking on QB’s as well.
Move your OC to QB coach
Better fit for the position and it’s gotta be his strength
Well, since he was a QB in college and a really good one at that, coaching them would seem like a good fit. I'm sure CMC will do whatever he thinks will work best for the team.
