Our boy The Walking Bucket might want to figure out where they're located before calling himself that
He was below 28% from 3 last year as well. It's turning out he isn't (yet) a great 3 point shooter yet. That will really hurt him in getting to the next level.
He won't go to the League until he can shoot at a much higher rate, including the trey. I don't think it is in him. I could be wrong.
This is why I don't fault him for taking the money while he could. He won't make the NBA. Last year he played a ton of minutes out of necessity and got a lot of notoriety for being Freshman of the year in the Big XII because hardly any freshman in the conference played significant roles. He had one shot to cash in and he took it.
Not a bad assessment. I don't think Tyrese thought of it this way though.
Did he call himself that? Really? Link? Pretty immature if true.
Thats his twitter handle.
It's his Instagram handle.
Well, you know. At some point he will need to back it up, or else change it!

For some people, I worry about how much you think about your ex.
In regards to some things he's said or done, I know I was doing dumber **** than him at 18, with good parents in my life.

We are in a great spot with Tamin and he's exceeded my expectations. Love the way he plays.

At least an Ex is someone who would involve an actual emotional connection that maybe involved time together, laughing, crying etc.

As opposed to some 18 year old kid that people watched play basketball for 5 months.

NIL is going to be a struggle for some and I'd guess it's the crowd that thinks there was a time when college sports weren't about money.

Yep, I'm sure down the line he'll know it wasn't handled as well as it could have been.
I'm still of the mindset he just wound up at the highest bidder but I also won't lose sleep over him.

I check the box scores of all the Big12 teams (check out those FT % of the WV KSU game, woof). If he would have gone outside of the Big12 I wouldnt even know he was still playing.

My teenage years and college are chuck full of times when I'd like to go back and kick my own ass because of how poorly I handled things and none of them had to do with getting paid a bunch of money to play a sport.

For many the school a kid plays for is transactional and that's not new.

Yeah different sport but I don't have a clue how anyone who left ISU football after 2021 fared and really don't care.

Not only transactional but they commit to a coach and sometimes which school can get them to the pros. Hunter did commit to Prohm and still gave it a shot with TJ.
I'm not going to praise him but I'm not going to crucify him.

Repeating for probably the 5th time on this but it might be different if he seemed to check out last year but instead he played a huge role in getting ISU to a Sweet 16.

We as fans have gotten good one year stints out of plenty of players and this is one more.

Jordan Bohannon netted 145 bucks from his NIL efforts at the West Des Moines High Vee. 200 dollars for autographs minus 55 bucks for gas and mileage on his 2002 Chevy Equinox.
I thought starting bar fights and suing those who respond was his gig

Yeah, it will be a struggle as the "narratives" we place on kids will be mostly confirmation bias based on what we want to see. Words like "commitment" and stuff will mean different things to different people.

Same folks that would fault a kid for making money/leaving would post in another thread how they left a company for a better opportunity and then "loyalty/commitment" isn't applied the same.

For all these kids, just hope they are honest with themselves and have good people helping them understand the consequences of actions either way.

Yes, it is. Got to love the people that were all for NIL and now complain about its direction.

It’s unfortunate he likely feels guilty and had to fib he got $0.00 for playing at Texas. I mean I don’t need him to do that as an ISU fan.

Pro athletes don’t apologize for their paycheck and pretend to the fans they’re getting paid $0.00.

It’d be better to be honest but I’m sure it comes from some understandable emotions and he seemed like a good person at ISU.

I had forgotten about him until people keep bumping this thread. Lipsey is alot better anyways so it all worked out.

I hope he gets a rude welcome at Hilton though.

Heard Fraschilla make a comment comparison during a game earlier this year. I believe I am remembering correctly below:

Hunter = Better Off Ball Defender
Lipsey = Better On Ball Defender

Even though our team wasn’t good defensively Haliburton was/is one of the best off ball defenders on planet.

Which posters are you referring to specifically?
Everyone that was glad about nil and now refuse to give, because it turned into "pay for play." Shocker, I know.

I am not going back to compare who was pro nil and now are frustrated about what it has turned into. You have every right to call bs on my statement. However, many exist on this board.

We now know he wasn't getting the most sound advice from his head coach.
