Wherever I go, there I am.
Furnace seems to be fixed for good this time.
Wiring issue on the last fix. Put in black and gold wires instead of red and gold, then blew a fuse.
I noted that mixing black and gold is never a good thing.
Landlord was probably trying to go on the cheap. If you use the black and gold wiring, you can stiff the contractor.

Although sometimes there is justice against the black and gold.

Not exactly sure.

Over 50% over budget. Must have used an Iowa engineering graduate to be that far off.

It was his first time fixing one. The diagram he was using showed those colors.
For sure, I think he was aiming to save money. In his case, I think it was just a mistake.

Why do electricians and plumbers take their sweet ass time to show up to do work? I have a couple two three weeks off work since my boss's son is on paternity leave, so I was planning on working at the house I've been doing carpentry work at, but I get there today and there's nothing to do because we're still waiting on the wiring and plumbing to be done. Those guys were supposed to show up a month ago. Hope we get some firewood orders so I can pocket the cash.

Had a guy, Nebby fan, legit try to tell me Iowas engineering program is top tier and probably ahead of ISU. I have my doubts but that’s not my area of expertise at all, I honestly didn’t even know Iowa even had an engineering program. I just nodded and said ok buddy.

I was trying to remember when the first RTT started. Thank you
I have all of them bookmarked except mine (part deux). Unfortunately, that one got permanently removed because of the spammers trying to end it. It's kind of how we came to an agreement with Angie and Bawbie (I think) to police ourselves and keep cave stuff out of here as much as possible. Doesn't seem like 10 years since these began!

Took us over five months to get the wiring completed on the addition (outside lights). And then, just before Christmas, the furnace for the addition (which is housed in a crawl space UNDER the addition) went out. Got a guy in to fix it before all my plants died, and when he went under there it turns out the electrician had botched the wiring and a bunch of it was melted. Comforting thought. Coulda been a BIG problem if they had caught fire with all that wood & open space... :(

Damn deer. Had a small portion of my yews unprotected cause ran out of chick wire. Couple branch tips exposed back against the house. Saw this morning the deer had walked on top of the fenced yews (fencing goes over the top) and trampled the shrubs to get at the couple branches not covered.

When I am walking the adjacent the woods with camera I keep having people tell me, "Oh, we just saw some deer back down the trail.". And I bite off the comment in my head "I hate ******* deer!" and moderate it to "Oh, I see lots of them in my own yard." Like I am going to take a picture of a ******* deer.
