Im not sure why people are being so sensitive over this. We cant sports hate him? I don't think anyone is saying they want to slash his brakes or whatever.

He made a choice, was a butthole about it, and is seeing poor results over it. It aint that deep

I do find it very strange we have people here who still cheer against Hoiberg for going to an open job at a program we have nothing to do with anymore but with Tyrese if you're not coddling him like a newborn you're some sort of psycho

Someone is definitely sensitive about Hunter.

So now there is an acceptable term for reveling in the misfortune of others- "sport hate".

Move on, Tyrese made a decision to transfer from ISU to improve his future development. No different than you or I deciding to change jobs to advance our careers. Can't speak for you, but I know not all my life or career decisions were the right choice after the fact.

How was a Tyrese a "butthole" about his move? The only thing I saw was a Twitter back & forth with Gabe. I looked at that as innocent trash talk.
I guess taking a pic in front of the statue of the Iconic Johnny Orr with the horns sign is being as ass. If I left a job I wouldn't be posing in front of the president of the companies portrait and giving him the finger.

I honestly don't even think about this anymore. I enjoy watching Lipsey way more anyway. I will say I am excited to see the Gabe vs Tyrese matchup.

If we were still just like last year in the race to 30 or 40, this style wouldn't be a whole lot of fun.
But we're not, and the stuff you described is awfully enjoyable.

Yeah they seem to find points no matter what.

I still think they'll have clunkers but there's different ways to score the ball so shouldn't be as bad.

Tyrese had some HUGE moments in his one year in Ames for sure. I found myself guilty of wanting him to be Monte...and he just isn't that and doesn't have to be in order to be a good player. I don't wish him ill because he chose to leave although I do wish he would have selected a destination outside the Big 12. Oh well though...he isn't ISU basketball and over time we will forget most of the things he did at ISU (other than the incredible NCAA tourney game)!

Yeah I think transferring to Texas is what is making it so tough for people. But he transferred oh well. Just like we've had guys leave their schools and come play for us. It happens

Did he do that? (I seriously don't know)
I assumed he was back in WI when he announced UT transfer and hasn't been back in Hilton since.

Hunter seems even smaller than I remember him. He hit a couple important 3s late in the first half last night to help Texas stay in the game but those were his only points. Then he was on the bench the last 5 minutes when Texas completed the come back. Not a good sign when you get taken out during crunch time. Tuesday’s game will be fun, although Hunter mostly plays off the ball so I’m not sure how much he’ll go head-to-head with Tamin.

I was pretty bummed initially but with how Lipsey has played I rarely think about Hunter anymore. I am looking forward to playing Texas and seeing how well we defend him.

The truth usually comes out. I know it did for Rasir.

I'm not rooting for either guy but I'm not going to "hate watch" them like I feel like some do.
I don’t hate watch Rasir at all I actually root for him. As far as Hunter goes, I don’t sit there and cheer when he does bad or get annoyed when he does well, I just cheer against his team as a whole because it’s Texas.

Had he gone to a school like Tennessee I’d probably root for him.

Is my phone not loading these correctly? I dont see anyone ripping on him where you linked.

How was a Tyrese a "butthole" about his move? The only thing I saw was a Twitter back & forth with Gabe. I looked at that as innocent trash talk.
Lets see. He:

Ghosted the program after the sweet 16 game

He and his brother referred to us as a broke ass program, feeding negitive recruting pitches to other schools who used that against us. It also played a role in costing us players like Bates, Basile, and Vander Plas who were pitched on playing with him

Vague booked about having beans to spill about us, still waiting on him to do so

The Gabe twitter deal

Lied constantly and consistently with no real reason to do so about why he left

All that is public info or verified by people who know(not premium info, btw. Need to make that clear)

And be straight here. Tyrese owes any value on his name to TJ. He came here to play Steve Prohms style of basically, which involves the PG getting heavy, heavy, heavy usage. How do we think a guy who averaged over 3 TOs a game and couldnt shoot anywhere on the floor is gonna work out in that system, especially when the only thing he was actually great at was defense. Everything else was potential based. TJs system highlighted what Tyrese was fantastic at while everything else needed to grow. So to not recognize that and be disrespectful to him going out the door over it too? Yeah, thats garbage behavior. If he tried to run Prohms style he would be untouchable by the programs with the dollars he so badly wanted to play for

I don’t fault Tyrese and certainly have no ill will. I
also don’t have a problem with pointing out that the grass isn’t always greener in the new age of NIL. That is what I did and it’s still early enough for that take to look incredibly bad.

I agree with your point as well! However, it depends upon what determines whether the grass is greener or not. If it was pure cash upfront...then he wins. We have no idea how his career would have turned out in Ames so in his mind, the decision was made and he won the moment. To be blunt, I have no clue how much we was given to transfer? What are the rumors in that regard?

T. Hunter to me was promised lead actor responsibility at Texas but was given supporting actor role. Trust Texas at your own peril.

I've seen the pic he is referring to and I figured it was photoshopped, because if I remember right it looked a lot like the pic of him in the texas jersey holding the horns up, but in front of the Johnny statue.

If this actually occurred there would have been a huge meltdown on here. Post the pic.
