He was my favorite character in White Lotus. He did a great job which is no surprise since he won an Emmy for it I believe. Pleasantly surprised to see him in TLOU, and too bad it’s just one episode.
Executed a lot well.
Interesting they're humanizing the pittsburgh (now KC) enemies more than the game did and making them more sympathetic.
My only worry is that with this part of the story not wrapping up until episode 5, that only leaves 4 episodes to wrap up everything after pittsburgh including Left Behind.
So… why didn’t they just go around the town? Seems you could side road your way to Wyoming?
David and James (Troy Baker), Ashley Johnson who is playing Ellie's mom and the actress who is playing Riley are credited in Episode 8. So it looks like that episode will be the winter/Left Behind episode.I could see left behind being in next weeks episode, simultaneously with the “current” story. Thematically it could work. After that gets wrapped up you have two episodes for the next big story beat in the winter, and then a couple for the ending.
I think that’s cover all the big beats. Right?

The whole drive right through the middle of KC seems a little far fetched and done only to create the conflict. Joel, having been in this world for 20 years, would know there is much more risk in trying to go through large population centers then navigating around.Good show. Never played the game. But I can’t stand that Ellie gives me such a Carl vibe. Hope they grow her up soon. But love seeing Lady Mormont again. I bet she loves this role and getting to drop F bombs.
Minor points, but really bugged me that Bill had a whole arsenal, but didn’t take an AR-15 out to waste the raiders. Just stood in the street like an idiot with a dead bolt.
And being from KC, so dumb they could not figure out an easy route around the blocked truck. Just go back , take the exit and get right back on after the blockage.
People are accustomed to video games funneling them where they should go, it seems more out of place in a dramatic series, but there are plenty of those that do it too, just to move a plot along. I never played the game, but there are points in the series that seem like they are a deliberate choice to remind viewers they are doing an adaptation of a video game. The whole drive right through the middle of KC seems a little far fetched and done only to create the conflict. Same. Never finished TWD because of this. Just got zombie fatigue.Maybe just me, but I low key appreciate the zombie show that isn't just 43 minutes of throwing zombies at the protagonists every week. That's the least interesting part of the world they are in.
I think you had to do more zombies in TWD because of it's relationship in time to the outbreak, as opposed to TLoU being 20 years later.Same. Never finished TWD because of this. Just got zombie fatigue.
100% on this. I cannot re-live another good series being drug down by a whiny, bratty kid/early teen. And I get that they are playing up that personality trait to create friction/drama and show her immaturity, but come on. We don't need it playing out in every scene where someone isn't trying to kill them.Good show. Never played the game. But I can’t stand that Ellie gives me such a Carl vibe.
