One bad game at home and this? We have a nice resume for the tournament at this point. I gave up on any regular season conference championship after that ******** at WVU. Road officiating has been one sided in a couple other losses so this is all practice for the post season tourneys at this point. This team has looked good and proven they can beat the best. Hoping we peak in March like last season

Agree. My best friend who is ISU fan is sending me a bunch a frustrated/freak out texts. I told him you do you. We hit a slump last year and ended up in the sweet 16. This conference is so ridiculously tough. You can't ever show up thinking a win is for sure. All teams hit rough patch. It's even happened to KU and Baylor this year.

I think paranoid guys like my buddy and those doing it on here need to just take a step back and stop stressing.

I think the truth is they have overachieved for most of the year. Talent wise we're in the bottom 3rd of the conference. The recent struggles have sucked to watch, but they fixed them for the tournament last year so hopefully the same happens this year. I can't wait to see this staff with the talent-upgrade coming over the next couple of years.

And what gets lost is any team can have that magical season where everything comes together for 30 wins and dominating most games etc. and it all can come crashing down in one weird game in late March and life still goes on.

No matter what league you play in, league play is really, really hard.

Now take this year's Big 12 and it's utterly insane.
Also sports it's just a fickle beast. Even the pros have letdowns. A lot of the freakout must come from people that never played any sports or watch anything other than ISU. Not to mention this stuff isn't done in a vacuum. You're playing another team and sometimes it's a bad matchup or sometimes they just play better than you.

Yep, regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, the team has already overachieved, and in my view the season has been a success. On paper the team is not even close to a top-11 team, but TJ's alchemy makes the most of what we have. And I'd rather watch this team's chemistry when their rhythm is clicking than a bunch of entitled one-and-dones. That's success.

Yeah, go back 3 months and we were hoping to get in the NIT with this group, especially after the guy that was suppose to be the starting PG got hurt for the season.

For some reason the other team plays to win also. Let's just all show up Wednesday night and help them get another win. Rather be hot in March than now

Feels like a first game B12 exit and Sweet 16. B12 teams have seen it and this is year 2. NCAA teams are on short notice.

ISU is one ball handling guard short of being a good team. This is a replay of last year, when too few guys ended up playing too many minutes. They are tired and you are correct, other teams have figured out where to cut guys off, where they can grab cutters without getting called, and who they can not bother guarding. Grill was a little out of control last night, which is not at all like him. I think he got a couple really bad calls in a row and had had enough. TJ should have gotten him out of the game after he hacked the OSU guy, but again, who is he going to put in that is a threat to make a shot?
I agree. TJ was planning on Williams .

What's frustrating to me is that we are 7-5 in the B12 and could be 12-0. We have had the lead or a chance to take the lead in the last 2 minutes of every game.

We're coming up short in close games which is the same thing that happened to the football team. Fortunately the basketball team still has plenty to play for and we are fairly healthy. Just need to play with more energy and composure at the end of the game. Staying out of foul trouble would help too.

Which is exactly why guys like Eli King needed more minutes in the non con. Ready or not, the reps could have really benefited him/the team for this stretch run.

I think after Stephanie got hurt the team was in trouble. None of the other post players are anywhere near as good. This year's team is just not shooting the ball very well for some reason, and they are going into a lot of long scoring draughts. Again, not sure what the issue is, but it has not been the season we all expected.
It's ultra deflating the struggles our women have had then you look across the state and the Hawk women are top5/6ish type of program this year. What an undeserving fan base, and unlikeable squad of players to boot, yet they are having all the success in the world, and our team of veteran players can't hang due to injuries, being too small, or simply possibly just not very good.
