College career or impact on the program? Bringing a guy in who goes to the NBA after a year or 2 is huge for recruiting, so a guy like that has an impact beyond his productivity on the floor. If Fran is still there I'm sure Pryce will be a key piece as an upper-classman on a 6th place B1G team that gets a 7 seed and bows out in the first weekend. That's pretty much the ceiling and Iowa fans are more than happy to accept it.

Omaha seems like a solid kid. To suggest that he’ll be another Foster is a crap thing to say. Foster’s ISU career was over before it started because of alleged sexual harassment.

I went to the Waukee v NW state tourney game and what was clear is that Sandfort had far better players around him than Omaha, especially Kelderman. I don’t know Kelderman’s college prospects but when I’ve seen him play he seems like a guy who will be playing for a team like Yale or Lehigh in the NCAA tournament and causing problems. Love his game.

I mean if a four year player turns out to be Monte Morris, sure. But if you want to win conference championships and make final fours you absolutely need some players who leave for the NBA after 1, 2 or 3 seasons.

We should be hoping players like Milan and Omaha are good enough to go to the NBA after 2 or 3 years. If Haliburton had avoided injury and our team wasn't a train wreck, it would have been a very good a good thing that we had the best college point guard as a sophomore. To not want that is insane.

The measure of a better college career is not how many years they stay in the program.

You really think that keeping a guy around 4 years is better than a guy staying 1 or 2 years and moving up to the NBA?

Teams don't win championships without elite talent. It's that simple.

4 year guys are great for continuity, culture, etc. But if you only have those types of players, you can expect to continue to be middle of the pack in your conference and scratching for MAYBE one win in the big dance every year.

Agreed. It’s weird. I’d take Pryce in our recruiting class in a heartbeat as he is a good player, but Hok fans can’t get over that he would be our 3-4 best recruit in the 2023 class.

Actually, a pretty thoughtful post. I agree with most of this. I take exception to the last sentence - a long career does not necessarily translate into a better career.
I do not think Omaha is a one and done, but 2 might be right.

The comparison gets complicated by Omaha’s various schools he played for.
Question - who had a better HS career Omaha or Milan M? I could easily argue Milan, even though he is not as highly rated.
