Recruit some freakin guys that can shoot a freakin basketball. It’s embarrassing that the main thing you have to do to win, our guys can’t do. Whole life playing basketball and you can make a shot. Pathetic. Shoon and Jones should be playing at grand view.
Thats why they call the game BASKETBALL....Who ever puts the Ball Thru the Basket more times ALWAYS SEEMS TO WIN....LOL!

Right. And my point is that I think TJ and staff should have put more emphasis on developing Lipsey’s perimeter game from the jump. I think he can make them, he just didn’t have to to dominate HS games. By early in the Big 12 season teams started to play off him and it limited our offense. So next year, tell Tamin, Biliew and Momcilovic to shoot it from day 1 and let the chips fall where they may. They are probably going to be our most talented scorers even with some new transfers. Maybe Watson can be on that list too.

Can't disagree but at what point was the development supposed to take place for Lipsey? I'm sure he was around plenty in the summer and all but the process of changing the motor skill to be more favorable takes some real time.

I think he's got the skill..the release speed and creative piece hopefully comes along.

Free throw made percent says a lot about an individual’s shooting ability. Good shooters are high 80’s+. We were last in the B12. It’s all about repetition & muscle/mind memory. Coaches can do only so much. You’ve either got it or work like hell to get it.

The problem with Lipsey is he never had to shoot the three in high school a lot. He could just destroy the undersized slow go high school guard. Lipsey would have really benefited from a prep school. Asuma the recruit that went to Minnesota is going to have the same issue. So used to playing small school kids.

It’s very interesting how the pendulum swings on this. 3 years ago people were DYING for effort, toughness, “big bodies”, and defense…

Now people want “fun to watch” again?
Oh don’t get me wrong, I’d take TJ over Prohm all day. But when asking for toughness and effort, I don’t think fans were wanting to trade the ability to score

Have the coaches considered yelling at the players?

I remember in high school I'd get thrown out there on the mound and just do a horrible job of pitching...because I was horrible. Coach would just keep yelling 'just throw strikes!' like that wasn't my intention.

And when I did throw strikes, the batters would tee off and basically have batting practice.

Good times.

I had a coach kick me in the nuts. (True story. It's was the 80s)

That's the hard nosed coaching young people need today

"Oh yeah, say it to my(or his, in this case" face" is the lamest **** to possibly say on a forum. What the **** am I supposed to do? Break into Hilton to talk to him? Run on the floor and scream I'm the coach now like that Iowa fan did?
if you want to talk to him face to face you have to go to the sukup building where his office is

TJ kicking like 9 of his players on national TV for missing shots...well that's one way to get the national pundits talking about ISU.

Film sessions with a football coach were fun: we'd win and he'd just drag on and on about one play and how pathetic everything was.

'What were you doing on this play?!'

'I don't know coach; I don't remember it because there were like 50 plays and I'm 15 so I was probably thinking about all sorts of things and I don't have a frontal lobe so my decision was probably going to be stupid anyway'.

I'd wonder if TJ would actually welcome a conversation with a fan in that scenario.

And then the fan gets more information for a rationale for why one thing or the other is or isn't done in 5 minutes than they can even comprehend.

Nobody does. But we can’t all be fans of Duke, KU, UNC, MSU, UCLA, etc. You ever seen a team besides 99-2000 at ISU that could do both?

Pitt sucks. Their defense sucks. And yet we have 30 points in a ******* NCAA tournament game. We got ******* nothing against this squad? Really?

IDK who it is. Get them out. We're already turning over a large chunk of the roster so that helps. Full blown reset on that side needed
I would guess that you never played much basketball and did not watch any of the after game interviews with players. Some nights no matter how hard you try the shots just don't fall and other times everything goes through the hoop. That's basketball!
