The other women's games have done well this year too. Interest in the sport generally is way up. The Iowa/SC game will be the highest rated one probably but I'd expect the title game and the other FF game to do solid numbers

Anyway this doesn't have anything to do with them talking about the team in the run up to the game, which is certainly a much bigger story than a ******* AAA baseball team
The title game is on ABC. It'll due huge numbers.

You know it is a day that ends in Y when some unhinged looney on the Hawks 247 board is making a post claiming a bunch of Clark stats over all ISU men and women’s players, only about half of which are accurate.

Got it. The freshman that comes in when Czinano sits needs to get tougher for sure, but she is young. In my opinion she is more athletic than Czinano, but just young and doesn't guard and block out as well.

Yeah I expect she will be good eventually, she was a pretty big recruit and was conference sixth woman of the year as a freshman. Good athlete and she plays hard. She's always the first one up the court seemingly, she got a ton of buckets from just outrunning everyone and getting a long pass from Clark. Needs to get stronger and develop a real post game (which Jansen has typically been good at coaching) but she's always going to be undersized. They could probably use a transfer veteran center with some real size or a big wing who can defend and shoot like Warnock but not sure they'll do it, it's pretty crowded.

Pretty certain Czinano is stating she is back next year. Has one year left can take I believe. Warnok has stated she is done and starting dental school.
I am not sure how Czinano could come back for a 6th year. She has played 5 full seasons:

It was funny Iowa vs Louisville had higher ratings than any NBA game this season. When you see a woman shooting from that far out and consistently making them that gets lots of attention. Most men left open aren't making those at as of high of a % as she does.

NBA ratings aren't good anyway. Men's tournament games are another story.

She'd have to adapt to the men's ball, but if she could I think she could absolutely play for the men's team at Iowa.

Not sure if this is a dig at the Iowa men's team or not.

She's a great women's player. She is the women's version of Pete Maravich. But, let's get real here. She wouldn't even get a shot off in a men's game if the opponent didn't want her to. She would be the smallest, slowest and weakest player on the floor. By far. Imagine your run of the mill 6-3 male d-1 point guard flying around the court against women teams.

Keep digging.

The NBA wins cable ratings every Wednesday and Friday night.

So? Bragging about Friday ratings is like bragging about being the skinniest kid at fat camp. Nobody watches tv on Friday nights. Rupal's dragshow has some of the highest ratings on Friday nights.

Do you think NBA games have traditionally outdrawn men's march madness? I read an article the other day about how more people watched the Pro Bowl than the NBA All-Star game. C. Clark in the elite eight is going to outdraw NBA games all day. Not sure why this is a big surprise to people.

Nah. MBB is called so differently from WBB, defenders are allowed to be way more physical than in WBB, she'd never be able to adapt, plus she's barely 6' tall, her shots would be getting blocked left and right.

They are unless someone leaves after the NCAA's. Somebody might. Folks taking 5th years like Czinano and now Martin and Marshall sort of complicate the recruiting. Other than bringing in Molly Davis as a reserve guard, Bluder hasn't exacting hit the portal. Iowa will also be carrying their injured 2023 recruit on the roster. She's not likely to ever be able to play but they are honoring their scholarship to her after the tragic car accident. They could get a medical waiver for that scholarship but that would require her to "retire" and give up on her dream to play again.

The women's team for my high school was one of the best in the state.

The men's team for my high school was probably the worst in the state.

We scrimmaged as the freshman boys against the varsity girls one time. And crusheddddd them.

Clark is a great women's basketball player, but that doesn't mean she'd stand a chance against men.

They will be full in 2023-2024 unless there are transfers.

Monday’s news, coupled with Iowa Coach Lisa Bluder’s subsequent confirmation that McKenna Warnock will conclude her career after this season to pursue dental school, means that Iowa will operate at the 15-scholarship limit next season.

Can you imagine Clark and McCaffrey having kids? They would be the whiniest, entitled, temper tantrum kids you would ever want to meet.

Clark is a good player, but selfish and a colossal whiner.
She's like 2nd all time in assists at Iowa.

Ehhhh, I don't think so.

She is a good player. Let it go at that

I said she could play on the men's team. I didn't say she'd be any good.

IMHO, this is Iowa's best chance. They lose Czinano, and she will be replaced by a sophomore who is a finesse player, whereas Czinano is stronger. Also, they lost McKenna Warnock, who is a solid 4 player. The rest of their bench doesn't get a ton of playing time.

I expect UCONN to be in the conversation next year since they get Paige back. Stanford continues to reload, LSU is loaded, and of course, South Carolina keeps reloading. I was also impressed with Ohio State; they return a solid core.
No idea what Bluder will do- but with the Final 4 and Clark exposure and the bulk of the team coming back next year, she should be able to have the pick of the Transfer Portal. Go find a post or three to replace Warnock and Czinano - players who can run the floor and finish off passes but don't need the ball in their hands. That really shouldn't be a problem in this day and age.
