How about champions with the highest sum of its opponents' seeds? (As in UConn would be, if I've got it right, 13+5+8+3+5+5)

Relax, I'm not negating their title. Just pointing out that they will have beaten a single 3 seed and no other team above a 5 along the way. At a minimum it probably inflates the margin of victory at least modestly.
Is the focus on seeding a little misplaced? Maybe it's a new trend with the portal and NIL, but I didn't feel there was a dominant #1 or #2 seed this year.

Also we saw really good teams like UConn, Miami and Creighton go through some long losing streaks which pushes them down seeding. But when they were playing well, as good as any team.

This UConn team is the same one that beat the Cyclones at the PK and it was pretty obvious in the ISU game they had elite talent.

Man I hope we get to the point we can get a couple of guys that can take it to the rim like UConn. Just relentless attacking downhill off some of these screens. Drawing fouls with how fast they attack.

18 games decided by 15 or more points. 6 games decided by 20 or more.

Interesting. Thank you! Your first 5, listed here, were by 20+, and were all 1990 or earlier. The last 20+ margin was by FL, in 2006.

So my point, the final is generally a close, fairly competitive game. As I speak, the margin is not as bad as I thought it would be, 10 points.

If UConn wins: Dan Hurley becomes the first coach since Kevin Ollie to win the National Championship in the same tournament that he won his first tournament game. Since the tournament expanded to 64 teams, Hurley, Ollie and Steve Fisher (1989-Michigan) are the only coaches to do so.

Of course, if San Diego State wins, just replace Dan Hurley's name with Brian Dutcher.

And Dutcher is from the Fisher tree.

This is exactly how SDSU has won games this tournament. Next few minutes before the under-4 media timeout will be fun.

Dutcher’s dad was the losing coach in what many Cyclone fans consider the genesis of Hilton magic.
