CU-Boulder Athletic Director just said on Twitter that there was no truth to a rumor of Colorado voting to leave soon
So they're firmly entrenched in the PAC?

MHver has somehow worked his way into getting some legit information. Swaim is full of ****.Anyone believing that the MHver account or Swaim knows anything is a ********. Both just guess things.
He's still mainly guessing about everything. Or he'll couch everything in ways that he can't be proven wrong. No one should rely on him for anything.MHver has somehow worked his way into getting some legit information. Swaim is full of ****.
This. He doesn’t get things right, he just frames everything under hypotheticals and pretenses so that if something actually happens it looks like he was sourced in, but he has an out if it doesn’t.He's still mainly guessing about everything. Because they would leave in about 15 months. So they're firmly entrenched in the PAC?
That could be any number of things. But it's gotta be they are clearing the way for a vote to move. No other possibility is nearly as much fun.
If the B12 is going to offer the most money and exposure over the next 5-10 years, and the B12 is also the best-case-scenario should WAOR get a B10 invite, I don't see how you pass that up. An offer now doesn't guarantee an offer in the future, particularly when/if ACC schools are on the market. It seems like the messaging from many national media sources has transitioned and the Pac12's demise as a fait accompli. And the passion by Pac12 media folks promoting the conference will stay together is gone.
IMO it is less about the Big12 poaching Pac12 schools from a long-term viable enitity, but more the realization Oregon & Washington want out in the worst way. Why stay in a relationship for 3 or 6 more years that will crumble eventually.
Get out while the gettin's good. AKA don't wait for the Big10 to poach because then Colorado, Arizona, etc. may lose negotiating power with the Big12 for full shares or be left out to join the MWC.
There has been alot of risk assumption being made by the PAC, most of which has not offered positive reward. The schools are at the mercy of the conference, until they are not. Each school now has an easy way out without financial risk. The school will need to evaluate and determine if loyalty to the conference trumps financial upset. The biggest issue raised above is you have a life raft now. Markets will change in 3-5 years, are you willing to sign a lower deal now hoping the PAC survives, and if not the raft still has air in it. Especially knowing Wash and OR want out ASAP.If the B12 is going to offer the most money and exposure over the next 5-10 years, and the B12 is also the best-case-scenario should WAOR get a B10 invite, I don't see how you pass that up. At some point in the next couple of months, there's a very real deadline for schools to put things in motion to make a conference change for the '24-25 season. They have time in the sense that their contract runs for another year, but institutions don't turn on a dime and making a conference change is a whole lot more than just who you're playing. Passing that deadline would mean losing basically all leverage with the networks - they'd know the schools no longer have a choice and will have to take whatever they can get.
My guess is by early July, the PAC will have a deal, schools will move, or everyone's decided to go down with the ship for the next media deal.
I don’t think it’s ever really been about the Big 12 “poaching” PAC 12 schools. All things being equal the PAC would prefer to stick together. No question. There isn’t any real want from any school to move to the Big 12, otherwise they would have already. It seems like the messaging from many national media sources has transitioned and the Pac12's demise as a fait accompli. And the passion by Pac12 media folks promoting the conference will stay together is gone.
