Do you have any idea what this does to the parking revenue forecast???10 years ago I’d have lost my mind over that

Seems as if they are trying to ruin the best thing about Iowa state footballYeah, it kinda looks like they are trying to discourage multifamily/friend tailgating with tents. Looks like a new era, unless there are 30' aisles between parking spaces. In our area, people seemed to be very courteous moving their stuff so late arrivals could get to spots, maybe that was not the case everywhere. I hope to avoid new lots, good for one more year anyway.
Didn't the tailgating tents used to come with a certain amount of parking passes? Since those aren't in play anymore that may open some spots too.
The number of parking passes that come with a tent this year is lower than it has been in previous years. 3 Parking Passes in B2 is the most you get and some are in B1.I think "Tent Row" is being relocated to the grass south of Scheman for this season
This has not at all been my experience and I've probably tried 6 different lots over the years. Because of activities and schedules there are some games that I can only arrive 1 to 2 hours before kickoff. I understand the situation and deal with it, but courteous is not the word I would use. Best case scenario has been indifference and worst case hostility. Some lots were so bad I'd schedule my arrival so I would get there just ahead of kickoff instead of an hour or two before so most of the tailgating had ended which would mean I'd usually miss the very beginning of the game.Yeah, it kinda looks like they are trying to discourage multifamily/friend tailgating with tents. Per the email they sent this morning, you can call or email to make changes to your donation. Go ahead and cancel that and give to the collective if you'd like. The people that are in charge of parking seem to get dumber and dumber every year. I wish I would of known before I had to put my donation in that things were going to be this bad. I would of just gave my money to NIL and parked in the grass.
Some in our lot (the former A3) never did want to move for later-arrivers. I remember one took up 3-4 spaces with two vehicles and a tent. Policing that should not be the responsibility of community college softball players. This has not at all been my experience and I've probably tried 6 different lots over the years. Still is kinda beside the point -- those in charge should be there throughout the day to avoid potential issues, especially with people who've been drinking for hours.Policing is a little better when it is the ROTC guys.
Wow, C2 parking went from 300 to 750!
It was not too long ago that anything north of Center Drive was public parking.
For those worried about overall number of spots with CyTown development, don't forget there is now B1. They paved a LOT of new spots in front of the theaters/Scheman building.
Wasn't that already in use last fall? For those worried about overall number of spots with CyTown development, don't forget there is now B1. They paved a LOT of new spots in front of the theaters/Scheman building.
- Beginning with the 2023 football season, all donor lots will open 6 hours prior to kickoff, but not earlier than 6 a.m. For games that kick off at 4 p.m. or later, donor lots will open at 10 a.m.
