Hopefully, for Iowa, she is shooting hundreds of free throws a day this summer as she was dreadful from the line last year. She came on as quite the rebounder. Saw her early and, not being one who follows Iowa HS ball, was left wondering what all the buzz was about her. Could see some of that answered later when she became their 6th player. Think she has a lot of upside. She's athletic and a bit raw on offensive but she sure can rebound.

I am not in the camp that thinks the Hawks will be woeful at post. If the posts can run than the ball from Clark will find them, at least on the break. For all of Czinano's offensive prowess in the paint she was not a good rebounder or defender. Will be interesting for Hawk fans to see if O'Grady can take a step forward and if Goodman can regain some of the post-injury promise she seemed to show as a freshman.
So you're saying Czinano was like the Luka Garza of the women's team?

Lots of Hok reporters are talking about CHA being sold out for women's basketball. I predict that the arena will look more like the men's games after the women have a losing record halfway through the Big 10 season.

LOL they won't have a losing record. Iowa will certainly finish top three in the league.

Don't count out Stuelke, she could step in and be pretty effective taking over that role.

Stuelke isn't replacing that production and O'Grady doesn't have the touch around the basket to do it either. I'm not saying they can't be effective but Czinano was stupid efficient around the basket. She was the anchor on that team when the supporting guards were struggling to hit three's.

I agree. Not being able to get a post that could replace Czinano was a big failure this offseason. I'm expecting Iowa to finish top 20 in the country with a 3-4 seed and making it to the Sweet 16 next year.

Of course even if they got Betts, I still don't think they could compete with LSU next year. That is a super team that will trounce everyone.

KCCI sports had another puff piece about her playing golf next month with Zac Johnson.
Do they ever show I-Cubs highlights any more? They look like they are decent this year.

I stopped watching any of the local news but I might start watching WOI for weather since the hired a CF guy.

What Kim is doing at LSU isn't anything new but I hate it. Just when it looked like parity was starting to creep into the women's game LSU is lining things up to be dominant for a long time. UCONN and Baylor falling back some was good for the game but having a team that nobody can compete with just sucks.

I-Cubs are 44-30 and the Cubs top prospect in AA who is now ranked as the #10 prospect in all off MLB should be promoted to Iowa soon. Fun team to watch this year because they have a mix of guys getting close to the majors along with some guys that have already been up at some point too. Only 1 team in the league has a better record than Iowa right now. 13 usually shows some highlights.

Yep, a big part of the reason why ratings were so high last year was because of star power and parity. Two #2 seeds played in the championship game.

I knew once Mulkey got to LSU she was going to win big. LSU is a much easier place to recruit and they have much deeper pockets than Baylor. She is going to win at least 5 of the next 7 championships I bet and most of those years no one will be able to touch them.

Why not? That event should be pretty cool to watch.

Heck, if I lived in the Quads I'd be interested in watching. Would be interested to see what kind of golfer she is. I've heard she really likes golf but how would she find time to play? Heck, I'm retired and don't have time for golf, too many other activities, hobbies and "chores". Golf is a notorious time eater and you have to play a lot be any good at all.

Anything short of a natty with the team they've assembled will be considered an epic failure. Will be interesting. There are a lot of big egos on that roster, and chemistry is a thing. If Reese continues billing herself as the Queen and hogging the spotlight, especially given the fact that she was not the reason they beat Iowa, will the new fellow alpha additions put up with it?

This is hilarious. Reese hogging the spotlight. I’m sure the whole Hawk roster are household names to their fans.

I'm betting even with some friction, they coast to the natty. Mulkey will be able to handle all of those attitudes.
