It seemed like it was pretty out there that Fred was sick of the Ames fishbowl and people fawning over him like he was God. Taking the Nebraska job was a pretty good clue that he isn't concerned one iota about how ISU fans feel or think about it.
I mean, taking the Nebraska job wasn’t really that shocking. He had ties there and wanted to keep coaching. He’s not playing Iowa State ever over there. I would have been more mad if he ended up coaching at Kansas State, Texas, or somewhere like that. He might have grown tired of Ames and some of the weirdo fans, but he always wanted to coach in the NBA, so leaving for the NBA wasn’t weird at all (although it was clear he was walking into a terrible situation). Also, if he hated Iowa State as much as you claim, I don’t believe he would have come back to Hilton for the Baylor game in 2019.

Is/was ISU some kind of big rival with Nebraska that I’m missing?

Wherever I go, there I am.
My mistake. "once the court concluded that the accuser fabricated evidence, the charges were dropped against Bubu". Better?
Actually, the Story County Attorney's office applied to dismiss the charges after announcing that new forensic evidence on a blouse belonging to the alleged victim was contrary to her sworn statement and that of her mother.

The Court didn't conclude anything other than that the prosecution's Application to Dismiss was in good order before granting it.

Well I’m not a lawyer so I was just giving the gist of what happened.

He'd get eaten alive in the B12. He's not very big.
I said elsewhere thinking somewhere like Drake, but he could be a useful walk-on at Iowa State. He can shoot.

And of course size alone is not determinative for Big 12 success. But no, he’s not Markquis Nowell or Trae Young.

That is exactly what he said, you just added more words no one needed.

I've heard rumors that Sam Hoiberg may be transferring from Nebraska to Iowa State to carry on his father's traditions. I also heard rumblings that Fred may be moving on from Nebraska. Anyone else heard anything about this?

So he's coming to ISU to become the conference co-Athlete of the Year and an All-American, while averaging almost 20 ppg like his father did in 1995?? I'll take it!!

His reserved personality/temperament just isn't that well-suited for the public-facing aspect of being a head coach, regardless of the location but especially in Ames.
Was it just me? I liked his calm temperament. And his general dreaminess gave ISU a cool factor that it's never really had besides at that time. We did get a little bit of that back when that one sports writer said that TJ would win if all the NCAA basketball coaches fought.
