Moved my afternoon run to the morning for obvious reasons, the temp was bearable but I think I sweated out approximately seven gallons of fluid.
What the **** you running for, was a bear chasing you?

:jimlad: from a fat guy.

Didn't see it mentioned, but apparently an airport on the Persian Gulf in Iran recorded a temperature of 100 with a dew point of 97 last week. The heat index was 178.

I can't imagine what that must feel like. What a miserable experience that would be.

Went to an outdoor play yesterday that I was hoping would get cancelled. Attendee demo skews retirement age and older. After about the sixth elderly person being helped out, they paused the play to help someone down front and center who could not stand and family had clearly been working on getting them out - they came back 5 minutes later and cancelled it. But it was just baking us in the heat. I had a fan, shade, hat, and ice pack and I was *still* sweating and hot. There were multiple people in dark, heavy shirts/pants, black dresses.

That's way too close to the boiling point on the Fahrenheit scale for me.

The weather guys can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that heat index is calculated in the shade, whereas the wetbulb score is calculated in the sun. So standing in the sun could be fetal after a scary short period of time. Using that temp info gives a wetbulb temp of 93

Can confirm it sucks out. Welding is making it worse. If I don’t make it, y’all can have my stuff.
Even wearing a helmet, fall back instead of forward if you don't stay upright.

Had to run some stuff to my daughter's un-air conditioned school just now and it's already unbearable.

Good luck this week, educators....

Not exactly sure.
For those guys not wanting kids, stand outside naked for a couple minutes at lunch during the next couple days. If hot tubs at 102 kills the swimmers, this is some free birth control.

Officiating my first HS football game of the season Thursday at 5:30 (9th grade Urbandale), we'll see if they don't cancel/move it. Supposed to cool down a few degrees for Friday at least.

I can't imagine it won't be moved. We will still be in the thick of the heat then. I am officiating my first HS game ever Friday night. We will see how much I screw up.
