Was going to go for a walk after kids were off to daycare but already felt like 91 at 745am and humid AF. No thank you.

So pointless. Just move the start day to Friday. I know it's so they get their hours in, but it's useless time. Nothing is getting accomplished.
Not disagreeing but it is just the first couple of days where not much is being accomplished anyway. Arguably these are much less disruptive than random early out/late start/no school due to winter weather.

I went out an hour later to garden this morning and temperature was higher but at least humidity better. No fog on glasses. And a nice breeze from the southwest. Actually didn’t start sweating until the flower bed where the house was blocking the wind and I had already been working 45 minutes. Birdbath was empty, I think we are watering a deer.

They must have figured out how to prevent the buckling of pavements as well. Because I can remember almost every summer it would seem they were everywhere come July and August.
The DOT was doing a big repair on highway 30 (west bound side) just to the east of Marshalltown yesterday.

I haven't run across one in years. And with the sun still doing what the sun does wasn't sure if they had come up with an concrete and/or asphalt solution that could withstand the pressure.

I'd guess they can count it as a day so they're not there longer into the summer.

The logistics are so much easier in the rural schools for bussing etc.

Wish I had your internal thermostat. I'm sweating looking out my window.

Will have to take the car out and let it set outside for a few minutes today since it will fog over the windows as soon as I back it out. Tuck under garage is quite cool, currently 70. Worst is to back the old convertible out if the top is down, than the glass fogs on both sides.

Just finished mowing two yards and took my third shower for the day. Took one after going to the gym, had a sweat shower mowing, and just finished taking one again trying to cool down.

Took my BP for the heck of it, just to see where it was at after over an hour outside. 108/77 with a heart rate of 87.
