Wow, Gilbert didn’t even win the backup kicker job. Appears he can be added to the list of high school kicker recruits that have not panned out for Campbell. That appears to be one area where he has yet to succeed in recruiting
He missed so badly on some of his FG attempts last year. Not surprised he got beat out.

Not sure what it means when the top four recruits from 2022 haven't made the chart. In some cases it looks like lower ranked players of their position and class jumped ahead. Would suck if someone like Gaines, a rare four star for us, had a similar path as Joe Scates.

- Greg Gaines (WR)
- Hunter Deyo (OL; left team)
- Jacob Imming (LB)
- Andrew Keller (TE)

330, 325, 310, 325, 335 is your starting offensive line..

ZERO reasons why you shouldn't run for 4.5+ yards per carry against FCS UNI
There is zero reason, but they won't anyway.

I’d never recruit a high school kicker, I’d pluck a FCS one or a proven D2 one and give them some money. Find one already developed
I've said this for several years - don't even bother to recruit because then you can't put our bad juju on them - just grab the best transfer, every year. It can't be worse.

Also interesting that Hassert is an “or” at guard but Simmons is not. Simmons really struggled last year.

I spot checked the first couple of game stats last year to see how many penalties Simmons had. Maybe that was '21 and he was OK last year? Seemed like he had a lot of false starts and holds in his past.

Willich must be a badass if he is starting over Will McLaughlin right now.

Also, good for Aidan Bitter, I've always thought he was a nice looking receiver and he is going to get some snaps this year. He could've easily transferred a year ago.
This. McLaughlin was a blast to watch last year. Out of position once in a while but he has a motor and good nose for the ball. If Willich is better, that is berry berry good.

Some have said that Sadowsky kind of reminds them of Mike Rose. I'm sure in some areas yes. Rose made an immediate impact as a freshmen, 11 tackles agains Iowa. Kid had barely any experience when he took the field that day. I doubt Sadowsky will be that good out of the gate, but my goodness, the kid is 245 lbs, Rose was only 220 as freshmen.

There also seems to be zero reason why a 3 front defensive line can completely disrupt the run game against 5-7 OL/TE, but our scheme has done it year after year. Scheme and technique can beat out size, especially when you got the right guys doing it.

Speed too.

A prickly DL can be awful for OL.
