If you have two QB’s, then you have none…. as the saying goes.
This is an elite postI believe they have had 'elite' level of practices. And you can throw Tanner in with that elite unit.
I'm just havin' a little fun.
One of the football analytic accounts I follow (I think it was Statsbomb?) showed that on average a punt hitting the ground would roll an average of ~5 yds in the punt teams favor. So every time you don't catch the ball, you can estimate losing 5yds of field position. The punt bouncing was so infuriating. Seems like our returners have generally not been coached well at how to determine spins or anticipating which way a ball will bounce. Too many punts that bounced at the 35 and rolled back to inside the 20. Too many punts that bounced at the 20 and rolled inside the 10. Bounce at the 5? Die on the 5 or maybe bounce forward a few yards but still inside the 10.
Yea like Michigan last year…how did that work out?If you have two QB’s, then you have none…. as the saying goes.
Well, I would hope, no coach should be doubting their team. Remember when CPR said that Iowa State shouldn't beat Texas? I would hope CMC is confident even if we had to play the KC chiefs on Saturday. For what it’s worth, just talked to a friend of Farleys. He is extremely confident this weekend
To be fair, any coach would say and feel that way. They are naturally very egotistical people and have alpha characteristics. For what it’s worth, just talked to a friend of Farleys. He (Farley) is extremely confident for this weekend
That’s worth nothing. We’re going 2017 on them this weekend, book it. roll clonesFor what it’s worth, just talked to a friend of Farleys. He (Farley) is extremely confident for this weekend
I’m not sure that “buried on the depth chart” is an apt descriptor at the moment. It’s not even the first game, the roster (and especially position) is very much in flux—and CMC usually plays quite a few wideouts throughout the season.I think if I was a wide receiver who had already red-shirted, and was buried on the depth chart, I would ask the ST coach if I could try catching punts and kickoffs. Spend a good amount of time with the punters in practice and learn the spins and rotations and catch the ball. It would get me on the field every game and give me a chance to help the team. I am not a fan of a starting receiver being the punt returner as it can lead to coaches wanting to fair catch to avoid an injury that could drastically affect the offense. Just my thoughts.
Guessing you mean 2015.That’s worth nothing. We’re going 2017 on them this weekend, book it. roll clones
I just meant points wise, but yeah I see what you mean. Just trying to be confident on the board cuz my rational brain isn’t. But I will stand by the fact that Farley being confident doesn’t mean anythingGuessing you mean 2015.
2017 was a statistically even game decided by two awful first quarter picks from a first year starting quarterback.
It doesn't. Every coach on earth is confident. Those dudes are just wired different.I just meant points wise, but yeah I see what you mean. Just trying to be confident on the board cuz my rational brain isn’t. But I will stand by the fact that Farley being confident doesn’t mean anything
It’s a little different when both are freshman 4* recruits with a new OC/QB coach. A game hasn’t even been played yet.If you have two QB’s, then you have none…. as the saying goes.
He has a talented and experienced guy at the most important position on the field, vs ISU who has two unknowns. Why not be confident? For what it’s worth, just talked to a friend of Farleys. He (Farley) is extremely confident for this weekend
300 yards rushing? Never gonna happenHe has a talented and experienced guy at the most important position on the field, vs ISU who has two unknowns. Why not be confident?
I think it is critical to roll up 300 yards rushing AND actually score touchdowns in this game. Dominate and make sure to keep the momentum. Futzing around and keeping it close is a recipe for that QB to make a play.
Id be happy with over 100 yds on below average efficiency300 yards rushing? Never gonna happen
