I had forgotten '19. How we lost that game I've no idea. And that trick play was beautiful. I agree with those examples.I thought in 2019, at least to start the game Campbell did not play conservatively against Iowa. Early in the game, they had a trick play that scored from deep, the stadium was going crazy. Then we put together another good drive and had really Iowa off balance until Purdy fumbled at the 19 yard line. Despite that turnover, we had the momentum and were taking it to them, but then the weather delay happened and it gave Iowa a chance to regroup and settle down. Also in 2017, with a gunslinger like Parker, and skill guys like Butler, Lazard, and Montgomery, we were only conservative late in the 4th, Campbell trying to protect the lead, but before that we attacked them all over the field.
The last 3 kind of stand out to me as conservative play calling. And losing to them in '21 at home with all the talent we had back, GameDay in Ames... That one still stings.
