It’s not even the loses (ok that is most of it) but especially the WAY we lose. Run up the middle, throw one yard short for a first down, miss a fg…repeat. I mean why not TRY a reverse, a flea flicker, a fake punt? It might actually work
Or QB sneak instead wasting a timeout to send the punting team out anyway. Or QB sneak to gain 1 yard instead of missing a FG down 10.

Campbell after the press conference.
”Obviously, Very disapppointed in the loss. I thought our guys played hard at times and we did get ourselves in a position to win.But credit Ohio.I thought they played well. The food poisoning thing did put us behind the 8 -ball and Rocco played through it I thought admirably. Our defense played oustanding, but we gave the defending MAC champions a short field for them to score a touchdown. We’ll just have to bounce back next week, which I know we will. Our punter was outsanding today.“
See how close that is.

The tv angles are misleading. You’d have to be directly under to see where it was when it went over. He immediately said no good. I have no issue with it

I’ve seen refs right in front a play by only feet make the 100% wrong call. Anybody can make a mistake on a fast moving play or fast moving ball flight.

I’d definitely agree with something like “we’ll never know for sure” because that’s likely the truth of it. You can’t say for certain this guy is flawless in his perception because both angles looked good and human error exists.

If we had gotten tied we’d have gone back to first half play calling and guaranteed offense sucks in OT anyway. Only chance would have been defense wins in OT. This offense will never be good in a close game or with the lead, they have an irrational desire to do what they cannot do.

One win team. Texas will kill us by 70
If they dont change the offensive approach, absolutely 1-11.

Gotta just start throwing it, a lot, and aggressively. MUST use the pass to set up the run. Some games it wont work -picks, sacks, etc and you will lose. But some games it will work enough and you can win.

Running 3 times and punting is NOT complimentary football, if it happens every time. Today that strategy turned into Ohio having 20 more plays than ISU - all in the first half iirc. Thats WORSE for the defense.

However this game wasnt lost even in the first half. It was lost in the staffroom before the gane even started. Same as last week!

At some point Matt, you cant try to be who you arent. You just have to be what you are, even if thats not what you want to be. Figure it out, or go back to G5.

This. Team seemed deflated before even kicking it off.

Look at Purdy and the 49ers. They look like they have fun playing football. Iowa State looks like they are enduring root canals and wisdom teeth removal out there.

Lol, yeah we would have played for the tie and OT on the road.

And then lost in OT.

This game reminds me a lot of the time Paul Rhoads got beat at Toledo.

Well these guys have played football their entire life, and when they know what plays they’re going to run in the game, why would they get fired up? They know Campbell’s offense is an embarrassment to football. Anybody but Campbell can clearly see that.

He showed he can do that on the 4th quarter, but this staff is more worried about a QB getting hurt than winning any games.

I’d take Rocco today over Hunter in any game last year.

Looked much better on the move than Hunter ever did. Made some big throws when he was allowed to throw (and by then everybody knew he was throwing) and the two interceptions were a wr falling down and a chance deflection that is PI half the time.

He’s not Purdy or Seneca but he’s not even close to where the key deficiencies are.

You might want to find that list of potential coaches for hire Jamie. Just saying.
