This! UNI too. Go to the Snyder plan. Play only guaranteed wins for the nonconference, and go into the conference 3-0, and build from there a winning conference slate for bowl games
And winning seasons. Bill had it figured out.

CMC had 5 straight seasons of winning conference records and overall winning seasons and bowls.

Last year we learned that a gimme opener doesn't mean a whole lot.

Ohio should have been a guaranteed win.

You can kind of get an idea why the team is playing the way it’s playing by looking at a recruiting class a few years before and how many players are contributing. The 2021 class featured Maro, Noel, Sanders,Frehler,Bitter and Purchase, among others, probably left some out. Most were three stars, Sanders I believe the only four star. These are the players who should be forming the backbone of the team, sophomores and juniors and for the most part, you are starting to hear their names more. So, I ask you, how is this class doing, compared to expectations? Is the coaching staff doing a good job developing these players? Who will be the most valuable of that class?

I support Matt. He is the first coach that won meaningful games in November. Other accomplishments:
1. First Iowa State Coach to win the regular season conference championship in 100 years.
2. First Iowa State coach in 60 years to defeat Oklahoma in Ames.
3. First Iowa State coach in 50 years to have a player drafted in the first round.
still to come:
Will he be the first Iowa State coach to have one of his players be Super Bowl MVP?
Most impressive to me: all the all-academic conference players. In the early 80s, Donnie Duncan beat Iowa three times, but had less than 5 players with over a 3.0 grade point average in one particular year. Breece Hall credited Matt with a five star culture. Me? As much as I love winning and am frustrated by the recent losses, that is priceless. Doesn’t mean down the line, he’s on the hot seat, but right now, Matt’s deserved some slack.

Coach yourself if you want him gone. He is the best coach we have had in over 40 years. Down seasons happen. Remove this guy from here please moderators!
This is down season number 3 in a row.

The same glaring problems are getting worse, and Matt is doubling down on making them.

ISU football has become completely unwatchable.

We should two easy home and one Iowa. But we go on the road every other year to a lesser school.

Eh, I've said for years that ISU is not fundamentally sound and these types of games it shows.

I don't care how 'exciting' the game is. If you're going to choose to slow ball it on both sides you HAVE to be succinct in how you play.
it would be one thing if we played slow ball like Wisconsin has historically......a dominant run game is something we've never had....also Wisconsin has actually had good OL's too, something we ALSO don't have

There are no guaranteed wins rn unless you play Iowa conference teams or something.

That's the problem. Even the most favorable Campbell take doesn't change this, there's not much talent here and there's no reason to think it's coming either.
the non-blue-blood Midwest teams will NEVER be able to recruit like the Oklahoma's and Texas' of the world.....that said, other Midwest programs have proven they can still win and be a successful program.

Iowa State is an average to high level offense away from being a contender for the Big 12

B.S. We could have hired Chris Kleimen when he was at NDSU. We could have also hired Lance Leipold, but we took Campbell.
tbf Lance Leipold was not available when we fired Rhoads....he was still coaching at UW Whitewater and there's no way we would've hired Leipold without knowing how he coached at Buffalo

I don't want him gone, I want him to pull his head out of his ass.

I don't know how you recruit or keep anyone here at this point.
I'm the biggest Cyclone homer there is and if I were a recruit that played an offensive position, I wouldn't go to Iowa State....I'd be going to some other school (like Kansas) who can actually run an offense

He could hire the hottest OC out there. Isn't going to help cause the new guy comes in and he says .... hey I know I promised you full control of the offense and I'll just stay big picture.... but I lied. Welcome to Ames, it's a nice town. Now here's how this whole thing is going to work.
THIS. I fully belive Tom Manning and now Nate never had/have full control of the offense. It's CMC's way or the highway, and unfortunately, he sucks at the offense thing. I just wish he could be brave enough to completely trust an OC to make the decisions because we've seen the same offense his entire tenure here.
