I'm purposely not watching the game but it sounds like the concerns observed with the defense in the UNI game are not a fluke but the norm now. ISU's dependable and vaunted defense is not what it used to be. Maybe a lack in recruitment, development, or youth. Nevertheless, the salad days at ISU are over. Point blame where necessary. Remember the good times.

Everyone else goes into the portal and gets big time players from big time programs but our beloved coach will get from useless programs if he even gets some. Look at OU transfers in the defense. You would think that Will McDonalds draft in the first round would have helped ISU in recruiting.

And that will your excuse when the current Jr's and seniors leave. Have to be training and building all the time. This is not high school, they get to recruit the players they want. The coaches need to own this teams weaknesses since they take credit for anything good.

They are killing us with slow, white 5'8" wide receivers. Give me a break. Defense is getting out schemed as badly or worse than our offense was out scheming itself the first 3 weeks

The gimmick defense has been solved by other good coaches.....This goes back to Bill Snyder days, but a good defense has to play close and bump recievers every play. You have to throw them off the route and the other obvious things.....but a big component is that the referees calibrate to this and cannot throw a flag every freaking play the defender is close. like basketball. Our passive zone invites a fw of the lame pass interfernce calls we got tonight when we did happen to be close. no calls...especially on purchase, but we got it anyway. we just take it.
