Here we go! We've officially reached ludicrous speed with the hype train. Brady and Montana comparisons.

I think at this point with Purdy we're obviously assessing potential. Purdy's potential at this point seems nearly unlimited. But hardly any of that potential has been realized. We don't even know how this season will play out.

So, to finish my thought, most any assessment as to his likely career is defensible at this point because we simply don't know. But what we've seen so far is remarkable and worthy of hype/celebration.

Completely agree, however, if all OCs aren't doing the same, I'd be shocked. There is something else specific to Shanahan's schemes which I just haven't caught on to. (no pun intended).

Obviously every OC from Pee Wee to the NFL is trying to run plays where guys are open. I just think Shanahan has amazing play designs that do a better job of exploiting defenses at different stages of the protection cycle. Sure, the talent helps those guys get open but he's playing 3D chess and nobody has a chance (right now).

He hasn't really had to (yet), but I think Purdy will really **** teams up when he learns (when) to take off and run in the NFL. That's when/where Mahomes really got teams. "Hey we covered Reek and Kelce, oh **** the middle of the field is open and he's running for 20 yards". Once that happens game over.

No, I'm assessing his performance over all of the 10 games he's started. That performance has been historical.

Yes, he makes a few high level throws a game for sure but his guys get open a lot. Not saying that means anything about Brock specifically. That offense is ridiculous though.
Yes they do get open and Brock is hitting them on time and in stride.

If Brock is more of a system QB, as you are alluding to, why are not other QB's in the SF system, of late, ripping it up like Brock? CMC makes a huge difference, sure. Jimmy G did pretty well, but not nearly as proficient as Brock is now.

Why hasn't Sam Darnold, or Trey Lance performed as well as Brock in the SF system? The coaches clearly like Purdy and were more than willing to trade Lance for pennies on the dollar, saving cap space. Even with Brock coming off of a severe elbow injury and surgery.

Perhaps Brandon Allen will rise up soon and overtake Brock as the #1 guy?

You're putting words in my mouth. I think he's been really good.
