Outside fools who don't know anything. Nick Wright and Steven Ruiz. Grant Cohn (internally covers 49ers) is starting to come around.

I believe they technically count that Eagles game as a loss. But he tore his elbow all the way through and was knocked out.

So my point is 12 - 0 or 13 - 0 in games he started and finished. In games he didn't tear his elbow early in the game. Which obviously you can't really count that whether or not the NFL does. Because it's ridiculous. He could not play like that.

The fans mostly love him. Some took more time to come around than others. I could see it last year. This year he is even more improved in processing and reads.

I call him Brock_Star Montana Purdy. He's the best since Montana and Young on the 49ers. Probably in over 20 + years. We haven't had a QB this good in a long time.
Even having Brock in the discussion with Montana and Young is quite amazing. Young had an great year in '92! Back to back QB's like that are so rare, let alone getting one.

For Brock to seal the deal, he will need a SB win. Knowing what we know about Brock, and how he is doing so far, it would not surprise me at all. I'm not saying this year, but the chances are very good this year, better than all or most teams.

Ugh.... This might be my first time posting in this thread.

I have been Cardinals fan for 20+ years now since their 1998 playoff run (I didn't watch football back then, and had their highlights confused for Iowa State in passing out of the corner of my eye. I was 12. Cut me some slack).

I HATE the Niners, and I hate George Kittle (I don't care if he is the coolest guy in the world. He went to Iowa and is a division rival. F*** him).

But I want to see Purdy do so well. Can he win MVP, while the Cardinals win the NFC West and the Superbowl? That is my dream.

This is so bittersweet for me.

He IS a system QB but there is a difference in being (solely) a benefactor of the system and being part of the system's success.

I said this earlier, but I think Shanahan is brilliant, even moreso than his father was. Mike really pioneered the zone blocking scheme that made Denver a running juggernaut, regardless of who their running back was. Kyle is amazing at devising plays where his targets run specific routes with the idea of having them open progressively throughout the protection cycle. Just like anything it doesn't always work, but go back and watch a lot of their plays. If you break down the play in a short 11-2/3 second window, there are outlets Purdy can hit if pressured. If he has longer, there are vertical plays downfield he can exploit. If he has all day or gets flushed out of the pocket (throwing on the run) guys are open or know exactly how to break off their route. Then you have the ultimate safety valve in McCaffrey who can run, block, and catch out of the backfield.
Brock is great.

Shanahan’s schemes are awesome.

Watching 49er games this two things stand out.

Often more than one guy is ”open” and Brock seems to find the guy with the best big play potential.

More important, however, his receivers always seem to break where he expects. How many times have we all seen an interception that went straight to a DB when the receiver broke the wrong way (or the QB and WR saw something different in coverage). This does not happen at SF.

Yeah, I kind of struggle with Kittle because he seems like such an attention hound. His schtick seems funny when things are going great, but I have a feeling it would get tiresome, especially when things aren't going so perfectly.

His decision to lift up his jersey and show the world his F*ck Dallas tshirt was pretty immature. You'd never see Purdy or the other stars on the team doing that.

But you would see a guy like Niang do something similar and we’d love it.

I’m not a huge Kittle fan but he is amusing and as long as he’s good to Brock and doesn’t bring up Iowa much, I’m fine with him.

I’ve finally realized that TEs are just funny/quirky people. Kittle/Kelse/Gronk. Hell chase Allen and Charlie kolar were quirky when they were here.

TEs and OL tend to be the most DGAF personalities.

It's also not done in isolation - there was a previous 49er player that did the same thing in maybe the 90's(?). On one hand, it was a flex on a rival and, on the other, it was a tip of the cap to legacy 49er players and fans. We would all love any player that would knowingly blow Carver a kiss like Niang or give BYU fans the double-bird like Ejim. You know the former players would love it as well if they "earned" it by winning like SF did the other night. We all know how much Niang loves some competitive trash talk.

I agree with them for most of the first ten players. Doesn't mean they're going to have as clean of a stat line though.

Respectfully disagree.

I doubt you'd ever see Niang wear a F*ck OPPONENT T-shirt underneath his jersey. There's making fun jabs at your opponent, and there's being a jerk. Nothing fun about wearing a F*ck OPPONENT T-shirt and then then showing it off to the world after you've beaten your opponent in the field. Niang knows the difference.

A little of that is FB vs BB.

It was a tribute to Gary Plummer who wore the same shirt in the 90s

OMG, these guys on drug. I guess any QB can replace Purdue and do the same thing that Purdy has done thus far according to these idiots

It's just not true Jimmy G and Trey Lance can't do it. Purdy does everything better than them. There is not one thing he's not better at.

How many titles does Brock Purdy have? How about MVP's, playoff wins?, come from behind victories? I heard Russel Wilson had a good practice yesterday. He might be the best QB in the NFL right now.

Mahomes wouldn't be near the QB he is without Andy Reid.

With Jimmy G, he would greatly reduce the pass plays. I remember in the playoffs they had a few games where they would barely even throw the ball. With Purdy, Shanahan mentioned that he has to resist calling a pass play every play just to keep it somewhat balanced. This shows that Kyle has complete confidence in Purdy.
How many titles did Reid have before Mahomes came along? Why didn't Andy have even close to the success with McNabb and Alex Smith?
