The Swam contribution for September fell dramatically. $16,600.

I wonder if your theory on the stock ups was correct? I knew the $50-$60k was unsustainable but can't say I saw it dropping off that much.

This is indeed what happened. HyVees over stocked on inventory in July/August which lead to some inflated figures for those months.

I'm still surprised the figure is that low with 3 September home football games and Iowa choosing to sell to the entire stadium.

I've still got 8 cans left. I'm rationing them each game until I can get back down to Iowa and should be able to stock up quite a bit on my next purchase it sounds like.

The Collective took home $30k in September off Ames Lager. Good work, y'all. Keep it up.
That is in-line with where the June check was from Exile to Swarm.. Exile is MANY times bigger than West O, and so that seems like a pretty good start for us.

@brentblum how long until West O anticipates to have production and distribution to a point where that check can be 2-3x this one? Swarm got a $75K check from Exile in August. I'm guessing their September check wasn't anywhere close to that as we are 18 days into another month with no update..

They oversold to HyVee's so had some inflated figures in July/August. Their September contribution cratered to $16k even with the perceived bump of selling beer at Kinnick over the course of 3 home games.

Imo, WestO has done a markedly better job with Ames lager distribution since roughly the start of October. It takes time to brew beer but those 3 new 30 bbl tanks WestO added in early August seem to be catching up.

YIKES, but not surprising for swarm. At our CyHawk tailgate, my Iowa friends significantly chose Ames Lager over swarm. It wasn't close.

I have pretty much moved exclusively to Ames Lager for light beer of choice, but it's really hard to find it on tap in most central Iowa bars and restaurants.

Focused on cans to start. Will see more and more on tap as production increases. Thanks!

I gave up looking for Ames Lager in NE Iowa awhile back. Has the situation changed at all and should I start looking again?

Echoing statements that I think its a solid beer. It's not trying to be a craft beer, its not an IPA, its nothing fancy. It's something you can drink easily and its better tasting than a cheap beer. After you have a can you're like "yeah, I'd have another". It's a crapshoot when you do something like this that if it tastes really weird people will stay away from it. This is the opposite of that. I would actually describe it as "generic" but in a good way.
