Woodworkers Thread

I've enjoyed browsing this thread and seeing things that people can produce. I make zero claim to be any kind of woodworker, but I threw together what I'm calling my Murphy Table as part of my garage Tailgate setup, and happy with the outcome. The Cyclones sign and flag aren't perfectly level on the wall, but the table is mounted level. The tabletop is 6 ft wide by 30 inches deep, folds down to about a 4 inch depth.

Small coffee table I made for a friend. Liked how it came out, especially for a scrap firewood piece. (Walnut finished with Odie's Oil) Bought the legs off of Rockler.

Last time I was there they said they were dwindling down inventory because they’re moving but wouldn’t actually say where they were moving to.

Edit: Did a little google search and evidently they’re moving into Clocktower Square in WDM next to TJ Maxx where Tuesday Morning used to be. A post from Aug 26 said they’d be closed for about a month but no update saying they’re now open.

Not out of business. just moving to new location. Will be just east of Valley West Mall in Clocktower square. I think they were hoping the new location to open sometime early November.

I was hearing they'd be closed about a month but hadn't seen anything recently.

This group is so talented, I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone can help me with a small project. I'm having a smoker built and want to add some metal cyclone artwork. They want me to upload a motif. How do I get retro CY converted to something like the other pictures I've attached?

Thanks! The home has a 3 story oak staircase I'm restoring this week. The original craftsmanship is amazing. I give those guys a lot of respect for the work they did with the tools they had. I'll post some pics of it.
Looking forward to seeing the pics

Just starting
Ok, now I'm intrigued so I gotta ask...We have an 1899 victorian home. The front of the house saw some settlement over the years, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, The bottom of our main staircase settled and the upper landing remained solid.

The stairs function just fine, but some of the treads have come out of the riser and there are gaps in the trim from the movement. Previous owners have just dropped in screws here and there to take the noise out of the treads, but what is really needed is a full re-build and re-alignment of the staircase.

My question is...how hard is this? I'm above-average handy but this seems like a whole new level. Also, what might it cost to hire a master carpenter to do this work for me?

You would need someone with a CNC or plasma cutter depending on material and thickness. Guessing they will need a vector file to run it (but maybe ask whoever you are working with). But you'd have to ask. You can either Google vector files or there are softwares out there that can convert. If you can't find a vector file you like I could probably make one for you

Stairs are scary if it's your first time. They're not too bad if you're skilled though. Have you ever cut stringers or done anything on stairs before?

this is just one I pulled from Zillow. I can take more tomorrow. If you zoom to the very lower left, you can see the gaps in the trim from the bottom settling. That landing at the top is solid.

In case you can’t tell, it’s not a spiral staircase.

I haven’t done anything with stairs yet. I consider myself fairly handy and have been able to figure out most all DIY projects I’ve taken on. They’re not always pro-level but I feel like I do pretty good for the cost.

To your point, I’m a little concerned I would take some things apart and not be able to get them back together!
