Do you believe Andy's obviously fake schtick that he isn't an Iowa fan and has nothing against ISU fans? Or do you listen aware of the reality of what a fraud he is?

I haven't listened to them in 10+ years since we got radically better options like all the new podcasts and having the Cyclone Radio Network shows on demand on Varsity App.

I knew exactly how they'd react to this without having to listen to a minute of Murph & Andy or any of the other even worse KXNO shows. When ISU gets screwed and an official admission that the wrong call was made that affected the game...people like Andy say ISU fans are horrible people for being upset. When Iowa loses a game on a heartbreaking call that seems to be correct...somehow Iowa fans aren't bad people for being upset and they are even justified for throwing things at Minnesota players and Iowa cheerleaders.

Same freaking guy like Fales has those views. It's hilariously hypocritical.

Do I care if Murphy or Andy are closeted Hawk fans or unbias, absolutely not. I get entertainment out of the program, and that's what I'm looking for. If I didn't, I'd not listen.

It's not like I want to torture myself by purposely listening to pro-hawk talk. GOD DAMNIT, That John Miller is talking Hawkeyes again and I'm forced to listen!

Haven't listened in years, but per the people who have in each show -- from morning to afternoon -- each of the radio personalities went on and on about how the call was bogus. One of them even said had the call not been made DeJean would get votes for the Heisman.

If all that is true, then it is a far cry from when I last listened. Murph and Andy, for example would almost be laughing at Iowa State fans for complaining about a bad call.

Sounds pretty biased to me.

Ken Miller was almost angrily arguing that it was the right call. Murph and Andy regularly acknowledge when ISU gets boned on a bad call. Even after the Ohio game, they all said it looked to them like Contreraz made the kick (he didn't).

I almost never feel like they're being unfair to ISU these days. Of course, I remember the era (2010) when KXNO hosts were rooting for ISU to get relegated to the MAC with outright giddiness, so compared to that nothing seems biased. I didn't really ever listen for a span from 2012 to 2017 or so, so maybe it was bad then, but the complaints to me reek of ISU fans being babies.

It would just BLOW MY MIND if someone who listened to that show for years didn't think Fales was constantly showing open disdain for ISU fans. To me it was the driving theme of his contribution before I stopped listening.

If you want truth about Iowa's loss from a guy who is honest. Fales gets an F for pretending he isn't a Hawkeye, Miller gets an A. He also just knows more about football.

The crazy thing is DesMoines is the one place it might be 50/50 among the big two and the homer media bias is as bad there as it is in IC/CR area.

If ISU fans were hitting opposing players and ISU cheerleaders with stuff thrown on field in a loss the Des Moines media and shows like Murph & Andy would be going BALLISTIC.

They criticize Pollard in an over the top manner just because he fights for ISU when we get screwed on calls that are officially recognized by the Big 12 as being incorrect game altering failures of officiating. I mean they go NUTS on the guy...and it's literally his job to stand up for ISU athletics. I commend Pollard for being mature enough to even continue appearing on KXNO shows, I probably couldn't do it if I were him but it helps ISU.

Murph and Fales absolutely love Pollard and love having him on. They talk glowingly about him when he's not on too. Hell, even Downs likes Pollard and wish Iowa had an AD like him, his exact words! And he hasn't said that once, he's said it multiple times.

Yup. The last two basketball seasons have been TJ love-fests, and I've seen Iowa fans complaining about it on Twitter like people in here complain about the Iowa bias.

Before I quit listening they'd mock ISU fans and Pollard for standing up for objective reality when the national media ran stories about how bad we got screwed.

The fact that Fales has been fine with Iowa fans throwing stuff on the field couldn't be more opposite than how he treated ISU the 10ish years I listened to the show.

It's a ******* radio show people, it's for entertainment purposes. I have no clue why some people get so worked up about it, wowza. They are catering to an audience, and creating conversation and listeners, which obviously people are doing, even if it's just to complain. This thread is pure humor for me on how so many care about something so dumb and irrelevant. What do you think? If it's boring and 100% equal coverage, there would be more clone fans and success? Don't like it, don't listen.

I enjoy Murph and Andy, the other shows suck so I don't listen (even if I were a Hawkeye). Maybe Clone fans have better things to do or outlets than hawks as Heather, the only clone, is god awful.

Fandom turns people into such whiners.

Turn the radio off and do something else.

Nothing you said is inaccurate. It's pretty much why KXNO local radio has gone from appointment radio to I'll listen if I've caught up on everything else I listen to. And I don't feel compelled to go back and listen to any shows I missed.

Yeah, he's not afraid to hammer Iowa and compliment ISU. Seems fair to me.

Yeah. Could have done without the the last part. It would be like other Iowa State fans calling you a suck up to Andy and Murphy

Like I said. I haven't listened in for at least three years right when COVID started.

You could be right. But then I wouldn't know. I would find it hard to believe they would change their tone in such a short amount of time. But hey, whatever.

I think the KXNO hosts have been pretty critical of Ferentz lately and the situation with Brian and they usually were pretty critical of Barta and all the messes he was in over the years too. Fran usually gets some bad pub from time to time too when he blows up. Yeah the station as a whole probably leans pro-Hawks but they have spent plenty of time on the negative stuff when it happens too.

Hassel and Miller on Iowa Everywhere are amazing. I wish both of them had even MORE content on there.

I enjoy their opinions on both teams and the network is better for having some clear opinions from them on ISU specifically.

Fales in contrast is the least honest and most hypocritical guy covering these teams, in part because of this farce that he isn't an Iowa homer. It's ridiculous that he was fine with throwing stuff on the field. He'd go nuts if ISU fans did the same.

I also like Hassel because he's legitimately funny and even after a deflating loss the show is still fun because of that. Normally I'd tune out podcasts after something like the Ohio debacle but he is funny so I still liked the show. Miller can be funny at times too.
