The selling alcohol in stadium argument is just so childish to me. All the people on Twitter who are for it just sound like children throwing a tantrum, to the point it makes me want alcohol sales less.
It doesn't help that the TOE sells it and we get to have them rubbing our faces in it that they sell their NIL beer in the stadium.

Said that people don't understand how complicated conference schedules are, basically that we're all stupid and haven't heard of the 3-6-6 matrix before. Stupid. Also that we can't have people want 3 rivals but then people with 0 rivals lol.
Yup- fans are too dumb to figure out scheduling and ISU fans need to just get over it.

Selling beer and wine inside college football stadiums has “become the norm," as 55 of 69 of Power Five conference schools and Notre Dame now "sell alcohol in the public areas of their stadiums on game days,"

I would be curious as to how many of the 69 P5 schools have a NIL beer and of that number, how many sell it to public in stadium?

This is so dumb. The donors that have access to alcohol don't want the rest of the poors to have access to alcohol? Go figure. At least pretend to care about the gameday experience of the average fan...

I think I would have to agree with the rich people on this one. Sorry poors. Just have to keep smuggling it in.

To me it's less about the alcohol in the stadium and more about leaving thousands upon thousands of dollars on the table in a period of time in college sports where you have to scratch out every available penny to keep up.

there's certainly some irony that ISU fans have choice of 4 beers that help support our NIL, AD or Trice Scholarship and yet none of them are being sold to the public at our sporting events

I would guess "all" and "all".

If it's not in the league's best interest to continue the rivalry, then fine.

It's just annoying that he's been trying to gaslight us into thinking that game has never been a big deal.

Would be nice to see our AD stick up for the fans and at least voice a little displeasure at the decision to end a 100+ year annual tradition.

All these years I assumed Boston Bobby was a bit.
When they played the "best of" his calls last week, I was waiting for them to spill who it really was at the end.

I'm still a little skeptical. Seems like quite a coincidence that they magically got him to call back on AD's last day.

Does anyone have any inside info? Is Boston Bobby a real person?

I asked Andy about him a year or so ago and he said that Boston Bobby was absolutely 100% real.

Also ISU legal is very conservative (not politically speaking here) and to many overly cautious. ISU has a brewery on campus. They can make beer but have no outlet to sell it. ISU legal won't let sales to the public happen.

Of all the things Pollard talked about and alcohol sales is dominating the discussion is sad as he had some other big topics. Fox Big Noon Kickoff considering the game against Texas as a possible location was a big one as was the reasoning behind the scheduling and getting bids on updating all the video boards and sound systems in Jack Trice and Hilton are far bigger topics really that I found more interesting.

CW pod with Downs just dropped
Pretty good too. I just don’t know how many non-sports pods with Andrew I’d be interested in. Speaking as someone who only listens to mainly sports pods though. I’d definitely prefer a Williams and Downs pod over the Miller and Williams pod though.

Basically Jamie Pollard said that Houston & UCF threw a fit about us being able to play 3 other Midwest teams. “We’re a 16 team conference, & that includes Houston & UCF. What would they think if we get to play 3 Midwest teams and they have to travel”
Thanks a lot Houston & UCF

I'm honestly surprised that the outrage over the no-beer sales flared up again. Did anybody think JP was going to change his mind on a random November afternoon? He gets asked about it at least once a year and his overall sentiment doesn't change.

And while some out there (WRNL contributors) seem to be thinking the athletic department is sitting on some cash cow, I think most grossly exaggerate how much extra revenue they'd take in after everyone gets their cut. Go ahead and factor in a potential reduction in Sukup ticket sales while you're at it too.

Yes, I'd like to have a beer or two in the stadium during the game. But the outrage by some over not having that option is mind numbing. As a previous poster pointed out, there was tons of interesting stuff in his interview, but not being able to buy Bud Light during a game was the sole takeaway I guess.

Iowa took in $3M in beer sales in 2021, which was the first year they sold it at games. That covers all sports but football was $2.4M. Don’t see results since but can’t imagine it hasn’t grown.
