Looks like they made the recommendation to the Board of Regents on Thursday, who just approved. He was going to be gone this week win or lose against Arkansas
Wonder what idiot they will hire next. Aggies always go after bad hires. Jimbo was trending way down at Florida State.
I bet they go for a big splash and steal a high-level P5 coach like USC and LSU did. Dabo?
But do they have enough money after that monster payout to do that or do they go the sketchy route with a coach that is sketchy and trying to get back to coaching.

Normally I would say yes. But you make a good point. The buyout for Jimbo and his coaching staff is going to be $125M. The administration might be a bit gunshy about giving out another monster contract like that.
But, on the other hand, they are basically a cult and could say F it let’s go big. Which is why Dabo crossed my mind. Other reasonable candidates would be Elko (former DC), Dykes, maybe Kiffin.
I’m thinking, of the jobs that open, that Michigan State opening would be the most realistic. I bet he’d listen, but I’m not sure this season was good enough (while I, personally am very happy with it) to get back on the Spartans’ short list.
Don’t be surprised if the first name is Urban. He is the trendy name everyone always says. I actually could see them going after him. Not sure how realistic it is though

Lanning has like a 50 million buyout. That would be something $125 million paid out before you even pay the new staff.
